I think split screen is hard to incorporate often because the graphics are maxed, and getting the PS3 to render twice as much is a challenge... but meh not an issue for myself.
Its good for when people are over to play competitively. GT5 has split screen.

Yeah, I'm one of those odd people that actually still enjoys human interaction

My wife and I used to play NFS on gamecube all the time. It's the only video game she'll play. I picked this up for something different to do and didn't think to look to see if it was local multiplayer. I enjoy online gaming, but still prefer to have people over to play games. These days local multiplayer is harder and harder to find.

I got this and GT5, haven't played this one yet...

Really considering getting a wheel since playing gt5 with the controller was terrible.

Hoping this game is fun, since it looks awesome.

For those that have an XBox and this game feel free to add me so we can compete on the Autoblog. My name is CaptainSlow on XBox Live and PSN. Just add a small message or write "CP" in the message area so I know it's form here. Because my nickname is the same name as James May from Top Gear I get all these random people from Europe trying to be friends and I just ignore them. Don't want to do that to CPers.

Wow so the wife hooked me up with this for Christmas, and I have to say I freaking love this game. It's easy to pick up the controls but the challenges are wicked! I love playing as both a racer and a cop.

Pros:
Re-playability is infinite
Online play is sick
Variety of one player levels is vast
Amount of cars and tracks is awesome
Great soundtrack
Beautiful graphics... (although limited tom 720p/1080i)
Different weathers/landscapes/times of day/weather

Cons
Graphics only going to 720p/1080i (but as stated above are beautiful)
No city levels, which I have always loved
No customization of vehicles (even justy to tune, forget cheesey body kits)

That's about it. I'd give this game a solid 9.5/10. Easily worth the pick up for any NFS or arcade racing fan. This might not be the greatest simulator but it is fun as HELL!!

i'm having a ton of fun with it, though i do miss the car customization. my ideal NFS game would be Most Wanted with the ability top play as the cops in Hot Pursuit. my 360 name is HemiCuda72 if anyone wants to add me

I'll add you just because I want someone to be on my Autolog as it gets boring when you get first all the time since you have no friends that that have this game. I go by the XBox Live name of CaptainSlow.
