so being from Oklahoma and there not being much in the way of selection or hockey knowledge I visited Hockey experts Thursday and then again today. Here is my skate story. I started with a pair of 10.5 easton skates that I never tried on... They were way to big as they were bought as a gift just so I could get on the ice. I then bought myself a pair of 9.5 , CCM U+07 . I thought the skates worked. They way I was fitted in Oklahoma went like this: Which pair do you like? What size do you wear? Do these hurt when you try them on ? No? OK those are it...
Fast forward to today... I went to hockey experts and a guy named Scott was very very helpful. He asked questions, found out what I liked , then measured my feet ( something that was never done) . He mentioned the Bauer Supreme line might fit me even though I loved the U+ line. I tried on many skates and he was never pushy about the more expensive ones. I tried the One 100, one90 , all the wa down to one70 . Believe it or not the One70s felt the most comfortable to me . The kicker is this.. remember size 9.5 in the U+ I currently own. The Supremes i were trying were size 8 ... I cant believe I was wearing a skate that was that much too big..
Anyway I updated some of my gear today too .. Skates and Pants , if you need to buy anything check out scott at hockey experts in deerfoot meadows . Tell him the Oklahoman recommended him.
