Some of them have been around for a while. Which ones are the new ones?

This morning at the intersection of Edmonton Tr / McKnight BV NE you could see the flashes from that stupid camera and it wasnt just one or 2 atleast 10 flashes in the time it took me to turn left on to Edmonton Trail.

What's the threshold for green/yellow speeding tickets? 10% above? (e.g. 88 kph in an 80 zone?)

It is a nice present to not have people running lights and endangering the safety of others. Why wait at one red light, when you can wait at a different red light, one block in front of you?

But it's not about running red lights, it about going through a green light too fast, the only people this will nail is the people that dont take regular routes and go through one, and they all have signs, I guess thats the point though, to slow down at these intersections seen as dangerous in the city

Studies have shown the red light cameras don't reduce accidents since people slam on the brakes as soon as it turns yellow... Not to mention some cities have also shortened the cycle time that the light is amber which only makes this worse.

Pure cash grab.

Wait, what? The fines just only started now?!

FFFFFFFFFFF. I could have been driving like a normal person instead of slowing to 5 KM/H over through these stupid things.

Traffic enforcement cameras have and always will be a cash grab. They use a facade of safety when it's all about revenue. There's no responsibility on the driver of the vehicle. They're also put in places where the speed limits are set lower than the normal flow of traffic. These cause traffic snarls and make the roadway less safe.

Speed does not cause collisions - differential in speed between vehicles is what creates problems. You adjust speed limits closer to the normal flow of traffic (85% percentile speed) and you reduce that differential, thus reducing the risk of traffic collisions. The cameras do nothing to solve the problem.

Bow Tr / 33 St SW

With the current configuration of the road due to LRT construction it would be pretty tough to speed through here.

I wondered why I hadn't got any of these tickets yet.....burned through a green on elbow the other night. Good to know fines are in effect, i'll make best efforts to drive the speed limit through these intersections.

I go through that intersection in the morning to work and in the last couple of weeks it's gone off twice on me as I came to a stop before the intersection being the first car as the light turned red. It's defective or needs some sort of calibration.
