A team has to make a decision to hire a coach and then the rating will be set. So no there aren't any pre-set ratings that should be used as a guideline.

The ratings for current coaches were a packaged ratings set we used - I don't know who set them - they were all pre-loaded.

But the ratings for coaches who haven't been hired shouldn't be used as guidelines simply because we don't want GMs firing their coach because they can bring aboard a new guy with slightly higher ratings.

Frankly I hate the ratings for coaches because there's no good way to measure them. Mike Keenan has way more career wins than Bruce Bodreau but which is the better coach now? Beats me.

It's not like players where there are stats to follow.

But the one constant thing is that teams have always had to hire their coaches without knowing what the rating would be.

That's weird - it doesn't show you as having either guy - even though in the sim Byslma is your coach. I'll have to try and figure that one out. I'm not sure what's going on .
