It's possible it didn't change the outcome because he never wanted to actually kill anybody in the first place (beyond himself). Also, sure you'd always wonder if you could have done something had he killed, but you'd wonder the same if you tried to be a hero and ended up the reason innocent people died.
The lady is a moron and she was just as much a hazard to those people as the guy pointing the gun.

There is no capital punishment in the Ukraine. And 15 years of hard labour is a start, but doesn't come close to the justice that needed to be administered in this case.
Truly disgusting and evil incarnate, and I thank pylon for making me aware of this case before I did something stupid and sought out the video (strange that my first thought would be two guys hitting each other with hammers). I'm a little shocked that I have heard nothing of this until now.

I just watched this last night myself. Incredibly sad that someone would feel compelled to take things as far as he did, yet at the same time, I respect him for sticking with his convictions like that.

I certainly found the video itself hard to view (To be fair, I actually knew what it was about before opening, so I could brace myself for it). I know it's been said before, but I feel like I need to repeat it: God fataing damn, YouTube comments should be removed outright.

I guess if people are tempted because they're told not to, it contains live footage of the suicide of Budd Dwyer and a close up of his body after he shot himself (gun in mouth). Spoilered is the ugly detail of what that close up contains.
I feel a little bad writing that.

I saw that video about 15 years ago on VHS and I found it incredibly disturbing. To the point where it seriously caused me trouble sleeping and just thinking clearly for days after. The video I saw had a lot more involved than just him (other unrelated incidents) and was totally disturbing and disgusting.
I know I don't want to see the Ukraine video. There are some things people should just not see.

I'm normally a pretty big puss for that kind of stuff and comparatively speaking the Dwyer vid is relatively tame.
I've never been one to search out that kind of stuff but like lots of other people I've been shown stuff by friends.
Worst I've ever seen were pics of a motorcyclist who was in an accident and literally got ripped in half. That damaged me for a while. It was like torso with ribs showing then entrails spread all over then legs about 10 feet away. I saw the first pic or 2 in an email and just deleted it.
I've also seen clips of beheadings from ME countries like SA that bothered me.
All time worst was the famous vid, cant remember the name, shot in nightvision iirc of a guy that willingly gets mounted by a horse. A friend turned it on his comp and the second I realized what I was goin to see I walks out but I unfortunately heard some of the audio before covering my ears and to this day I get that pit in my stomach when I think about it. A friend o mine who stayed and watched it said it took her a looking time to get over how disturbing it was.
Now obviously the Dwyer vid is disturbing I think it hasn't kept me up at night or anything becaus I was warned what was in it when I saw it, it was self inflicted and there was no pain or suffering. The guy just died instantly.

Pretty sure no one would be calling her a moron if she'd actually knocked the gun out of his hand.
PS Russic, my husband and I had a lot of fun stealing all your BC properties in OTW this summer. w00t!

Pictures of dead bodies don't bother me. Its the smell and the actual presence of the body in my reality that bugged me.
A human body takes on a different meaning when you know that you can touch it and its there in front of you and you can smell it. Thats when you realize that it used to be more then a piece of meat.

Now that this thread is totally derailed.
In my younger days I had the misfortune of working at a detail shop where a car was brought in that a guy decided to drive into the woods, and stick a shotgun under his chin. The car was found about a week later and brought to us by the insurance co. to try and clean out. Even with fresh air suits, you could smell it, and the smell permeated a 6000 square foot building to the point where we had to shut down for two days, after one of the idiots there left the car inside overnight. I agree with CC, the smell is something you will never forget.
After stripping the interior literally to the metal, and even clearcoating every surface, the car still ended up going to the shredder.
