People who are pissed about that are idiots. So it's understandable that people in Texas are pissed.

Unreal....and big kudos to Detroit for getting this thing done.

The Detroit Lions have just stopped distributing free tickets for Monday night's game between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants because of an "overwhelming response" to the offer. Fans with tickets to the original game scheduled for the Metrodome, and those who had tickets to Sunday's game between the Lions and Green Bay Packers, will have their tickets honored. The Lions didn't say as much, but I'm guessing they are expecting a capacity crowd of 64,500 if they've already stopped giving away tickets.

Hard to say. How fast can one recover from an appendectomy? Obviously things in the NFL get accelerated with the best medical help money can buy, and the fact that someone like Cassel would be in phenomenal shape. Still, you gotta wonder if he actually will be ready in 6 days.

Tough game to watch. What blew me away is that the O-line that has played so well this year, couldn't pass block to save their lives. Every play Croyle was running for his live. I thought I had just woke up from a dream and it was December 2008.
Defense played much better in the second half and caused some turn overs to give the Chiefs a chance. The Croyle led offense couldn't do a thing to take advantage.
SD's third TD should not have counted near the end of the first half. Floyd bobbled the ball and it came loose when he hit the ground. Not that the Chargers wouldn't have scored a TD or at least a field goal anyway.

Here's one: Were you upset about Jackson falling backwards into the endzone and thus getting a 15 yard penalty?
Is that disrespect or entertainment? That's been an interesting debate this morning as well.

Not really, I mean it's classless but it's also pretty funny. If it wasn't for me having Vick on my fantasy team I would have loved to see him step out at the one while doing that, now that would have been funny.

Both! Penalty deserved as it was unsportsmanlike but it should be nothing beyond that.
I've seen guys in beer league sports get in other people's faces after accomplishing a lot less than a 60yd TD in the best league in the world.

When Roethlisberger had his appendix out a couple years back he had 14 days from when it was done to when the Steelers next game after the one he missed. In his first two games back...he had passer ratings of around 38. So even if Cassel does make it back for next week I wouldn't expect him to be much better than Brodie Croyle was for the first couple weeks.
Hopefully the Chiefs go out in the offseason and get themselves a Billy Volek like backup. The last time the Chiefs made the playoffs...Damon Huard was huge with how he played in Trent Greens absence.....boy could they use a guy like that now.

Tom Brady is far and away the best bad weather QB I've ever watched. John Elway used to win a lot of games in the snow, but the numbers Brady puts up in these games is absurd.
The scary thing is that Bellichick and co have a pretty substantial haul of early draft picks for this coming draft to continue reloading the Patriots with talent. I think Brady will get the chance to play in 3 more Superbowls before he calls it a career.

They are building a second dynasty. The defence is very young, and only getting better.

Who can possibly stop this New England juggernaut before it hits Dallas in February? With every week that passes, and every game that follows roughly the same script -- Patriots dominate, and move on -- the feeling that we're watching yet another New England Super Bowl team grows stronger.
How many times in the past 10 years have we seen the Patriots seemingly handle the conditions as if they've played in it a million times before, while their opponent slips and slides and spends its workday looking hesitant and overmatched by the elements? It's as if one team is on skates, and the other's in cleats.
It's just the Patriot Way. They don't just deal with the cold and the snow and the bad field. They seem to almost relish the challenge, and the added degree of difficulty inspires them.
They're on a mission. By now, we all know that can't be good news for the rest of the NFL.

5 turnovers by Hasslebeck leads to 20 SF points. No need to go into another Hasslebeck rant, the guy is putrid.
And Butler breaks his leg.
This was a pathetic showing for a team that needed to win this game.
They still control their own destiny, but the combined records of their opponents remaining is 25-14, while ARI and SF's are both under .500.
They could still win the division at 7-9...have to beat St. L in the last game as the only other win. They of course needs St. L and SF to lose a game or two in there too.
They have a couple tie breakers over SF and ST.L.
As painful as it has been to watch this year overall, and the problem spots are all too obvious with many key positions, most importantly QB, this team had 9 total wins the past two years.
They still have a very good shot, and no reason, being this close, they can't pull together and get in, which would be a great story, and who cares about the weak division. For that to happen, the QB and defacto leader of this team has to prove that he still belongs in the league as a starting QB and lead this team strong with the finish line in sight.

I don't understand why they don't go grab Jeff Garcia. I expect he is better than Croyle.

the only athlete I've ever seen that came back quickly from an appendix operation was Patrick Roy in the 90's for a playoff game against the Bruins. Even then, I think it was only for one game (but he did win and played ridiculously well).

Damon Huard was huge, played very well that season.
The season the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, Len Dawson went down with a knee injury early in the season. Back up Jacky Lee was injured later in the same game or the next game. Second year QB Mike Livingston who had only taken five snaps the season before, came in and won five straight games for the Chiefs until Dawson was able to play again.

Typical. I called them an hour ago and they said it would be on channel 338 but it's not coming. Such a bush league company.

I assume you're talking about Sunday ticket...just as it would be a regional game yesterday, its only a regional game on Fox.
