Those phones they carry kinda sucks. What good phones would work at Wind?

Any T-Mobile android phone would work (Of their 3G phones I believe)

The new Nexus S perhaps? Engadget called it the *best* Android phone on the market..(of course you'd need to wait for an unlock...)

They actually have a lot decent phones; the only exception is not carrying the iPhone.

They have BlackBerry and Android phones. As mentioned above, you can also buy any T-mobile phone and unlock it since T-mobile phones also use 1700 AWS.

If I wanted to buy an Android phone, I would definitely go for that.

upon further research the nexus S will sell for 529$ unlocked and off contract in the states.-->importing this will end up probably a bit cheaper or around the same price as the iphone 4 with shipping, duties etc.

I'd have switched to Wind by now if they had Halifax coverage!

I hate Rogers. 3G gets some brutal speeds here sometimes.

I've only heard good things about the Google Nexus One.

Yep, I jumped on this deal. I paid Motorola XT720 for $250 (with $150 on WindTab).
I'm loving this Android phone. I customized the shyte out of this.
It's relatively underpowered at 720MHz cpu compared to the likes of Samsung Galaxy that has 1GHz. In fact, I believe the phone is running at 550MHz out of the box!!! So I overclocked this mofo to 1GHz (and apparently safe up to 1.2GHz but I don't wanna drain the battery)

Anyways, I'm a happy camper so far.

Thanks to the OP for the heads up on this. I was looking for an excuse to dump Koodo and I had to get in on this deal... picked up the XT720 and I'm totally loving it. Very impressed with Android so far. Wish they had the most up to date Android phones on Wind, but this model runs impressively well.

The one complaint I have is that apparently the UofC is a "Wind Away" zone. You'd think that such a high-traffic area would be covered. Anyone else on Wind noticing similarly spotty coverage?

When I temporarily used wind I turned off the "Away Zone" by forcing it to use the home network. There are instructions to this on the WIND site. It wants to use the strongest signal, so it probably switched to away. Lock it to the home zone signal and you should get home at U of C

I have been with Wind for one year and I have no complains at all. I have the 9700 blackberry with no contract. Great service. I highly recommend if you are considering switching to Wind, don't hesitate.

I thought I had a wicked plan for $100 a month with unlimited calling including long distance in canada and the US (not from us to canada though) along with all the bells and whistles and 6 gb of data.
Either way, i guess its not to bad for a iphone plan!

Makes you wonder how long it will take before Wind starts putting towers into more rural areas.
