And is Burn Notice that good? I have had it on my hard-drive for over a year now and still haven't watched it, same with Son's of Anarchy.

I'll throw my 2 cents in.
The Wire is hands-down the best tv series I've ever watched. For me, it's the measuring stick for all other tv dramas (I don't think it's fair to compare comedy and drama)
The Shield is also excellent. It would probably make my top 5 list for best tv shows.
I don't watch Fringe. I saw the first few episodes and it was alright. Seemed like a modern version of the X-Files. The thing that put me off is there seemed to be way too much deus ex machina going on...
I tried watching Burn Notice and hated it. Just way to cheeseball for my tastes.
Sons of Anarchy is decent. Season 1 was good, season 2 was excellent and season 3 was just okay.
Other shows I like: Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, Stargate Universe, Peep Show (British comedy series).

Another one that's pretty funny on the new BITE network is "Mumbai Calling," a BBC offering.
It's everything "Outsourced" wants to be but isn't.

It's been mentioned a few times already but, Stargate: Universe is having a really great second season (first half is now done). They seem to have fixed what I disliked from the first season.
I will say it: It's better than BSG. I do really like the mythology and history behind the Stargate franchise but it isn't necessary to get into this show other than having an small understanding of the Ancients and the gate system.

Another great BBC show is "Hustle."
It's an episodic series that follows a group of grifters who pull off an elaborate con every week. Very stylish and engaging show.

A very interesting journey from start to end.

I caught it when it was on Movie Central, really good documentary.
I'm really digging Sons of Anarchy so glad I started watching that. I am in the process of getting The Shield and Deadwood, and then after those two I'll get The Wire.
Thanks for the heads up on some of the BBC shows, some of their shows are really really good and I want to watch their show Robin Hood, looks pretty cool, but I'll watch others suggestions as well.

Any thoughts on the up-comming "The Cape" series on NBC, airs Sunday Jan 9th
http://www.nbc.com/the-cape/
Or is this NBC attempting to grab the long lost Heroes audience.
One big bonus is that Summer Glau has been cast.

Such a good show. There's an American version as well that's not quite as good, but good none the less...

Does The Shield have nudity? I know it may be an odd question, but I watch the majority of my tv on the train, and gratuitous nudity can be problematic.

The odd bare ass here or there, but nothing more than that. A couple dead naked bodies as well. I wouldn't stress it whatsoever.

One thing it seems to do better than the X-Files is keep a consistent plot line going. However that interesting plot line doesn't start developing until mid-late first season. It is quite a bit more episodic until then and does have some hokey solutions.
I liked it enough early first season to keep going and I'm glad I did because I really like the overarching plot line they've developed. End of season 2 and early season 3 were great.
My favourites this fall season: Fringe, Dexter, Stargate Universe, The Event (have to overlook the mediocre acting by several cast), Rubicon and the Walking Dead.

Should I be watching two and a half men? It's always looked kinda lame to me.... but I have heard some very good reviews recently, wondering if I should give it a shot?

I just watched the pilot of The Shield and man was it good, just going off one show and some of the reviews around here I would say give it a shot.

Awesome, I'm always looking for shows like this.
Just finished Mad Men season 1 this morning. I didn't think much of it but people in the know seem to think I should continue on to season 2.

Season 2 took a while to pick up where season 1 left off... FYI. But it remains my wife and I's favourite show right now.

I thought I should bump this thread and mention that William Macy's 'Shameless' pilot episode is being re-broadcast tonight. This is an excellent pilot about a dysfunctional family and I was blown away by how it was equal parts gritty and hilarious. I enjoyed it and I think you should watch it or at least pvr it tonight.
WARNING - Very graphic sexual situations and at least one full on shot of some dude's garbage.

Yeah, I liked Shameless.
Apparently based on a British series that's been around for 8 years, but since I've never seen it, it was original to me. Fans of the British version have complained that Macy is horribly miscast (you could say the same thing about the American version of The Office too, but that's worked out), but it seemed like it was more about the oldest daughter's story than his anyway.
Too bad about the male junk, but the Emmy Rossum nudity made up for it.

Yeah, I don't think the c-sucker word has ever been used in so many diverse and unique ways as it was on Deadwood.
Just wait until Wu shows up.
