Not up on my lore but Skyrim is the Nord world is it? So maybe some degree of a Viking/Northern/Winter aesthetic going on then? Will be looking forward to this.
Skyrim is the northernmost province of Tamriel, and is a cold and mountainous region. Although it is one of Tamriel's less hospitable provinces, it has been home to both elven and human civilization since time immemorial. It is currently inhabited by the human race of Nords. The Aldmer and Falmer occupied Skyrim until the late Merethic, when the final wave of Nordic immigration, led by Ysgramor, finally drove out the mer.
Oh my god I forgot about Diablo 3. 2011 is easily the best in gaming history in quite a while. Diablo 3 (possibly), ME3, ES5, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Forza 4, Duke Nukem Forever.
If my time with Diablo 2 is any indication, there won't be time for me to find out what those are games are...Diablo 3 will eat my soul if it comes out before the rest of those.

I know what you mean. That game has essentially ruined my entire life. That was the time I should have been developing my social skills, as I played that game non-stop for years I have virtually no social skills anymore as they never developed properly. I am slowly building them, but I have D2 to blame to my poor pathetic life.
As an entrepreneur I will find a way to harvest money out of D3, then I can make money and play all the time. w00t w00t baby
I made a pledge to myself not to buy any more games until I play the ones I have. That could take awhile since my Minecraft addiction is taking up all of my available gaming time. But I'll be getting ESV no matter what.

The best news of all, which was expected really, is that they are no longer using the Gamebryo engine (Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout:NV), so that should mean better graphics and such. The bad news though is that it will probably lead to more bugs.
I really hope they change the leveling system. Oblivion was a fun game but trying to avoid using certain skills while artificially over using others (to get +5 modifiers when leveling up) was really annoying. Not doing it at then ending up with a +2 or +3 modifier was annoying as well because you knew the monsters were going to get harder and you needed all the help you could get.

From what I read the leveling is more like Fallout. You'll get perks, skills, etc. like Fallout, but the level cap is much higher. Getting to level 50 is relatively easy, then it gets hard to level. However, what ever you do a lot (your skills) is what you level and will increase your overall level.

I agree. Biggest problem with Oblivion was that I found the game was easiest if I didn't level at all, which kind of sucked.

Thanks for that. Good resource there. Time to brush up and maybe give Oblivion another spin (as a Nord). Too bad I finally bought a Wii and got Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Gotta love the little things in life like playing classic old games that you never got around to playing on their first appearance.
Those Skyrim screens are looking good. Can't wait.
Here is all of Tamriel. A final game with all the land involved would be epic! Huge and epic. I became a fan of this game since Morrowind, and can't wait for this release!

If they made a game that was the entire Tamriel it would be extremely enormous. Daggerfall the game was twice the size of Great Britain for god sake. It would take weeks to get across the entire map in real time.
