Megan Fox is not Exotic.
She's about as trailer trash as they come (in a trailer trash is fun kind of way)
Honestly, I am just glad Megan Fox is gone. From all set reports I've read the new girl is just less of a cow on set and is much easier to deal with. Acting chops are about the same, which is saying something since this is her first film.
^ Fox is going to be in for a big surprise, if she believes any other offers are coming to her near what she was being paid for on Transformers. Her personality, and behavior are going to end up costing her millions assuming Transformers could go another 2-3 pictures.
Well, this trailer impressed me enough that I'm willing to consider going to see it. I am not making that decision right now, I'd like a couple more trailers, and possibly a review or two, since I was so disappointed in Fallen. But...this has some promise.

My major problem with the second movie is that they completely castrated the Decepticons as a viable threat. I mean, they literally outnumbered the Autobots at least 5 to 1, yet the second an Autobot even sneezed in the general direction of a Decepticon, the 'con would explode into a million pieces. On the flip side, apparently being fed into massive metal grinders did nothing to a tiny little Autobot.
So yea, I expect them to totally emasculate Unicron if he's in the movie, I assume one of the humans will throw a pebble at him and he will implode upon himself.
Honestly, if the movie was (First Half) Decepticons in an all out massacre against the humans and Autobots and then (Second Half) Autobots manage to come back, but barely win, I'd be at least somewhat satisfied as it would follow regular Transformers logic.

He didn't go into the grinders. He held on to something until the mouth closed and grinders/suction stopped.
Also, ofcourse more Decepticons died in that attack. They were assaulting a defended position from head on, hoping to overwhelm.
They likely would have too if Optimus wasn't revived and went ape. The flip side is, how many Decepticons landed on Earth and survived? Soundwave is still in space to give commands and coordinate. I think while the attack they made failed it makes them a far more viable threat in the third film and opens up the option of actually making it a war, not just a single battle like the past two films.
I'm a huge transformers fan. I'll go see the third move in the theatres for sure. The second transformers movie was a great action flick IMO. Turn off your brain for a couple of hours and witness some chaos. Great stuff.
Ebert sounds like an old man in his critique. Meghan Fox looks too perfect? Revenge of the Fallen did not try and pretend to be anything it wasn't. Aside from the kiddie characters (which are there for obvious reasons), I thought the movie was a great action flick.
Location: In a land without pants, or war, or want. But mostly we care about the pants.
Exp:
You can like something and still admit it is horrible crap. I love zombie films and 99% of them are objectively brutal. Trying to convince someone who doesn't like them that they are good films would be the act of an idiot.
Arguing that Bay is one of the worst directors ever, and to wonder how he got more than a single movie deal, isn't elitism, it's obvious - if you've spent even 30 seconds analyzing anything he's ever done. Movie critics aren't supposed to be cheerleaders, they are supposed to give an intelligent critique about the movie's strengths and weaknesses; if your only strengths are that you have gobs of money to both hire hot, dumb actresses and to blow up stuff in every scene, your movie will be panned, and rightly so.
Some people want to judge a movie as art, not just entertainment. As art, both Transformers movies are the fingerpaintings of an imbecile. If you like them, it doesn't make you a moron, but your critical thinking skills become an open question if you claim these films are masterpieces of cinema, and you are unable to comprehend why this just isn't so.
Which, to be sure, no one has as yet; but some are leaning that way...

Michael Bay is one of the biggest hacks in Hollywood at the moment. Love the trailer all you want, but all I saw was more "Americanization" flag waving that we are accustom to.
No Michael Bay film is complete without a million explosions, bad acting, mediocre plot devices, bad jokes (hey look everyone, my mom is high! That was so funny in the 90's!), plenty of shots of military vehicles, bad camera work, painful amounts of slow motion, far-away shots galore, and of course t&a. Many of those aren't too bad in moderation, but three hours of it for RotF made me want to drill a hole through my skull (my friends forced me to see it). RotF was like a bad episode of That's 70's Show.
The first one sucked too, it was just shorter, and the plot at least tried to stay on track. I never watched the cartoons (more of a Batman guy myself), but I found GI Joe to be far superior to both Transformers entries (GI Joe wasn't great either).
The Rock is the only Bay directed picture I like (mostly because of Connery), and even that is packed with Bay themed madness (512 helicopter shots).

Oh, and yes he is a huge success, and will do more in his life that I will ever do. Bay fans love to bring that up. I give the guy some credit there, he knows what Americans love to eat up.
Thank you for saving me the time to write this. Genius post. Michael Bay can shoot enough cool stuff to make a damn good trailer but he lacks in every other department.
I understand enjoying the action and seeing the transformers blow #### up and transform. I can see how people would think that's cool. But if you seriously want to argue that these movies are good movies, you may or may not be ######ed. Like this guy for example...
I semi-understand the hate for Michael Bay. I won't deny his movies are silly, I won't deny they have a ton of action and very little plot, but at the end of the day his movies are "turn your brain off and watch some action" and he makes good action movies.
Sometimes all people want is to watch a cool summer action movie and he makes good summer action movies (I didn't say they had a good plot or had good humor, the humor in Transformers 2 was awful and I liked that movie).

Argument invalid. Prime. Megatron. Tree.
Will you people catch on and just stop trying? The paltry arguments you make carry no weight when compared to that scene. Cereally.
Admittedly I wasn't fan of the first Transformers movie, so much so that I didn't see the second one. Even if it was a turn your brain off type of action movie I thought the action wasn't very good. Most of the time the transformers were wrestling off screen or the camera is bouncing around, panning like crazy, or changing cameras every half second. It seemed like there was never a good shot for more than second of the robots battling. Either way I will be skipping this one. Micheal Bay's movies are completely devoid of everything I like about a movie.

There are better examples of movies to "turn your brain off", than Transformers. Face/Off for example. Wicked movie, that makes no sense for the most part. But, it's my favorite over the top, nonsensical action movie of all time.
Even the critics loved it for the most part, so yes, critics can love pure action movies.
