Default New takes on Christmas Dinner

Just found out we're entertaining the in-laws this weekend for an early Christmas celebration. I'm looking for some new ideas as I won't have time to thaw out and brine the traditional turkey.

Any suggestions on what to make?

Maybe some pink taco... never mind, that isn't good for a family reunion.

Butterball makes a stuffed, frozen turkey now. I almost picked one up last thanksgiving. It takes roughly twice as long to cook but there is no prep time other then taking out the giblet bag and throwing the frozen bird in a roasting pan.

Or, lamb roast.

Ham is easy and fast; although probably only 60% as yummy as a turkey meal. That person's Butterball suggestion is probably your best bet.

- Roast Lamb
- Pork Crown Roast
- Excellent grade Prime Rib
- French seafood Bouillbase (sp?) - Seafood stew
- Cornish hens

all relatively easy to do, but looks fantastic when finished

We do Fodue every year rather than a turkey dinner.

start with a cheese fondue with bread
then we heat up the oil and do Beef, chicken, shrimp, Scallops, Mushroom etc with a bunch of different sauces
finsih off with a chocolate fondue for dessert.

very social meal and we have a great time everyyear

Tell your wife to deal with it. She waited until the last possible moment to tell you and it is her family.

We always eat tourtiere on Christmas eve and ham on Christmas day. I actually prefer a nice ham over turkey.
