I've heard good things about Canadian Public Finance, taking it next semester. Con is it's late (6pm). Prof is supposed to be a beauty (as in awesome, not hot, it's a dude).
ECON311 can be easy, but you do need to study. It's more than basic Excel.
ARKY325 multiple choice midterms, final. I had McCafferty and he supplied study guides for each. Downside was his grade scale is about 1 step harsher than normal (80% = B-) otherwise it would be almost guaranteed A.

I wonder if HR people have lists of all the bird courses, when they review your transcripts?

A guy I have talked to in HR management at a fairly large oil company said that there are some courses that stand out, especially at local institutions. However, since they so very rarely make a choice based on education alone, they rarely factor in.

I took my Engineering degree at the U of A, and an English class was a degree requirement. (This wasn't that long ago.) The only reason I got out of it was because I got a 7 (top mark possible) in higher level English IB. I think a 6 worked as well, but I don't recall.

Anyway, I would estimate that ~98% of my fellow engineering graduates took that English course. I didn't know anyone else who was able to get out of it, and it likely would have come up, because people bitched about taking that course all the time.

My experience was that people complained about their one English course, and took identically that amount, since you couldn't take less and wouldn't get any credit for taking more.

Next semester they have History of Heavy Metal. Wish I could have enrolled in that, but I graduate in 17 days.
Dude, we should grab some post graduation beers at the Regal! You can tell me about your Europe trip. PM me.

How was the victory lap?

Sweet jesus, I remember that class. I had it at the end of my day on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I skipped it all the time. It was so damned boring it was painful. I remember spending a whole lecture on input/output devices and trying to tie a noose with a mouse cable.

"You shouldnt tie the cables into knots to kill yourself with."
"If you used a cordless mouse like they do in the Universe that I live in we wouldnt have this problem, would we?"

The benefit though is that the dude who sat beside me was one of the main bouncers for the Den, so I got a lot of perks by getting wasted after class with him. The best was him just getting my buddies and I into the Den on St. Patricks' day without waiting in line.

By far one of the easiest and fun courses I've ever taken. You actually get to run a business for a week. The earnings you get during that week are yours to keep. What other class actually PAYS for itself?
This is one of my favourite classes ever. I got a great group, we still keep in touch occasionally and I still email back and forth with Sandra every now and again. Absolutely spectacular class.

Grading can be a bit tough, particularly if your business sucks or you have a bad group.

Music History classes are great! They seem to change up the topics every semester, but I took a "Music of the 1980s" during spring semester one year. It was a lot of fun. The instructor was actually a member of an 80s Canadian band, but wouldn't tell us which one. I thought maybe from the Payolas? The tests had a name that tune section and I finished with an A+. We watched some of the Behind the Music specials and Classic Albums docs.

It was one of the best classes I ever took.

Haha, I'm in this class right now. Our group made ~$1300 washing /detailing cars for 4 days. Absolutely one of the most enjoyable/useful classes I've ever taken. Sandra always keeps thing interesting as well. Plus, you spend half the lectures watching Dragon's Den.

Definitely not language classes like Spanish or Italian.. brutal if you're looking for an easy grade. But good if you need a date!

If they still offer Canadian film it's a good one. Just follow the prof's instructions to a T. That's all he marks on, it's ridiculous. I got a mediocre grade because I didn't 'need' a good grade at the time... it was a block week course. He once pointed to me though and said that 'I' was Canadian film

Not necessarily. I had a couple friends take that course at U of A because they had heard it would be a breeze, especially since they were comp sci. Whoever the prof was slammed them with difficult work. I think the class was pretty thin by the end.

ART202 I think or it's 220.

Art for pre-school kids. you finger paint and play with clay and stuff. plus it's a full year class and you are in class with 95% girls.

If A.W. Barber still teaches RELS 203... he will provide you with an exam bank of questions. He will go over the answers on the class before each exam. Exam questions only come from this exam bank.

Memorize the questions/answers and you will do extremely well. I went to 5-6 lectures and received an A+.

Meh I just got really good at making stuff up. Seriously though they told you what they wanted to see so I just gave them exactly that and I seemed to always get 10/10; I suppose it really depended upon who you had for a TA.

As for the final report well I am not too sure what to say about that. In most likely hood we bombed that part of the course knowing my group haha.
