What a crazy and tough 18ish months for Broncos fans. Shanahan, Cutler and Marshall all gone. McDaniels, Spygate II and Tebow/Orton in. From 6-0 a season ago to a check mark on most team's schedules.
With Shanahan obviously hating his job in Washington, maybe Bowlen should hit the reset button and try to make it 2008 again.

Gruden et al., are obviously at the top of a lot of lists, but most would require final control over personnel in order to accept the job. Who, Bronco fans, would you be willing to give that type of power to in order to bring into the fold? I heard Childress is available on the cheap. |

I wonder if Perry Fewell doesn't get a look by some of the teams looking to fill HC vacancies. He did a pretty good job in Buffalo and has resurrected the Giants' defense this year.

Ideally, Cowher.

Another Belichick protege bites the dust. Maybe the man is that good as assistants come and go but he still wins and the assistants don't when they go solo.

So I guess in the end Jay Cutler got the last laugh?
 Players always beat coaches.

Why? So he can bring in his incredible record of mediocrity?

It's amazing McDaniels is out of a job and Kubiak still has one!

Because he has an incredible relationship with the organization and community.

I'm not saying I'll like it, I'm just saying I think it will happen. I just can't see Bowlen shelling out the cash it will take to get a guy like Gruden or Cowher when he's on the hook for Shanahan and McDaniels both.

Speaking of Shanahan....all he had to do was fire Bob Slowik and none of this crap would have ever happened.

Wonderful news as a Bronco fan. Can only hope Sutters are next.
I would love to see Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden or even Mike Shanahan back.

You know, I don't even care about Cutler and Marshall that much anymore. The three insufferable charges I have against McDaniels are as follows, in no particular order:

1. Spygate West. Damn you for putting that black eye on the Broncos organization Josh!

2. Trading a first round pick to move up and select Alphonso Smith in the second round. I liked the player....but......just wow.

3. Cutting Tom Brandstater and trading Peyton Hillis for Brady Freaking Quinn. Unforgivable.

Surprised by this move obviously. I should preface this with the fact that I was one of, scratch that, probably the only McDaniels supporter around. What he inherited from Shanahan was pretty much crap. Sure it was a great team to draft fantasy players from, but that was it. That team wasn't winning a damn thing.
That team needed to be blown up and rebuilt. I would have really liked to see McD get a couple more years to get this team built up. The secondary is light years better than it was before, the LB corps is much better this year as well. The D line is a work in progress and I expect them to go after that in the draft. The big problem was the D coordinator. "Wink" has no business being a DC in the NFL, period.

McDaniels, through both Bowlen and his own fault, was not set up to succeed. The lack of a real GM to make the personnel decisions was McDaniels downfall.

Brandon Lloyd is on the radio here now with Alfred Williams and Dmac (104.3 the fan if you want to listen). He said it best regarding the coach. "He was the best coach I've ever had regarding preparation and getting us ready to play. Now when we're on the field, we have to execute those plays. But, these are also the players you chose to be on this team."

The RB coach has been named the interim coach (can't recall his name right now). I expect no hiring to be done until a CBA is agreed to. If one is there is no way Bowlen doesn't go with a big name proven winner. Kubiak? No chance. If he gets canned I'd bet on Fisher being the first name called.

Stupid decision to kick the FG too. Did someone put an imposter in place of Rex Ryan?

I think he's trying to make sure he ends up in the C'mon man segment next week. That was a horrid looking kick, and now the Pats ram it up the Jets arse for a TD.
