I use happy holidays and merry christmas interchangeably, generally choosing the one that I think has the greatest chance of offending whomever I'm talking to.

I don't friggin get it. These fataing foreigners come to our country and complain that our holidays are offensive to them? We have to say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Really? You wouldn't see me going to Israel and telling them to stop calling Hanukah because it's offensive to me.
Wait, so is this one sarcastic as well?
Maybe my sarcasm meter is busted too.

I think the thread was about a shopping mall having a problem with Christmas bells being used by a charity to raise money. As far as I am concerned, the mall is private property and if they don't want bells, then there will be no bells.
It is pretty bad, I work in a mall, and we don't have a guy by the store, but I tried having lunch with a co-worker in the food court today. One of the bell ringers just about drove us insane! If he was by the store we'd probably have to be on murder watch.

This has never happened. Nobody has ever actually complained about "Merry Christmas." What you're describing is a myth that's a way to castigate non-Christians and multiculturalism by Fox news and the mouth breathers who watch it.
Get out of your mom's basement, go out today and wish 100 people "Merry Christmas." I GUARANTEE that NOT ONE will be offended/

I don't think this is an anti-christmas issue, it's an annoying noise issue. Like vuvuzelas.
