Default Full-scale version of Noah’s Ark to be built in U.S.

The Governor of Kentucky and a company called Ark Encounter LLC announced plans to build a $150-million full-scale Noah's Ark. It will be part of a larger creationism park that will feature a Walled City and a replica Tower of Babel.

Ark stuff

A thought crossed my mind after reading this....IF they have all this money to build a "replica scale ark", why not just help all the people that have been hurt by America's recession?
I wonder if they are going to round up all the animals 2x2 or 7x7 and make this into a giant zoo as well?

Ark Encounter LLC?

I'd be choked if my taxpayer money went to something like recreating a fictitious boat.

Well the boat will be real, but yeah this wouldn't thrill me either.

wow, that sounds very uninteresting, I can't imagine ever wanting to go see that...yet, they'll make all their money back and more off of those southern religious people down there.

Finally, construction jobs and theme park worker jobs for all those laid-off science teachers.

I'd sell your heart to the junkman baby
For a buck, for a buck
If you're looking for someone to pull you out of that ditch
You're out of luck, you're out of luck

Ship is sinking
The ship is sinking
The ship is sinking

There's a leak, there's a leak in the boiler room
The poor, the lame, the blind
Who are the ones that we kept in charge?
Killers, thieves and lawyers

God's away, God's away
God's away on business, business
God's away, God's away
God's away on business, business

Digging up the dead with a shovel and a pick
It's a job, it's a job
Bloody moon rising with a plague and a flood
Join the mob, join the mob
It's all over, it's all over
It's all over

There's a leak, there's a leak in the boiler room
The poor, the lame, the blind
Who are the ones that we kept in charge?
Killers, thieves and lawyers

God's away, God's away
God's away on business, business
God's away, God's away on business, business

Godddamn there's always such a big temptation
To be good, to be good
There's always free cheddar in a mousetrap, baby
It's a deal, it's a deal

God's away, God's away
God's away on business, business
God's away, God's away
God's away on business, business

I narrow my eyes like a coin slot baby
Let her ring, let her ring

God's away, God's away
God's away on business, business
God's away, God's away
God's away on business, business

Not sure if it's the best place to put your money, but I think it sounds cool. You don't have to be an evangelical to be interested in the topic. Giant boats = cool!

Oh and too bad they can't make it out of gopher wood like the original.

I'm WAY too lazy to like anarchy.. that takes way too much energy.

I sure hope that $150 million is for the whole park because that's a lot of money for a wooden boat that's only 135m x 22.5m

Giant boats are cool, but they already spend a hundred and fifty billion tax dollars a year on the Navy, and those boats are real.
