I personally think that Randy Shannon should have gotten one more year, that way you give a coach a chance with a full recruiting class.

There is another coach that is a BIG university that will be looking for a job either real soon or right at the first of the year. Then that same coach will be coordinating at another big time school....

Shannon had his chance and he effed it off. The U needs to be in the national title picture and he wasn't taking them there.

Peter King and other have been tweeting all night that the Gruden rumors are not true. Being a Canes fan I hope they can get Gruden but I highly doubt they can afford him. I still think he ends up in the NFL. He is likely going to be able to pick his job.

It's not that they can afford Gruden, it's they are cheap. Hell Miami couldn't even fill half of "what will we be sponsored this weekend" stadium.

hahaha Boise States gotta be pretty pissed off right now. What could have been a decent conference with utah, tcu, nevada, boise, and byu, now just looks like a newer slightly better version of the wac.

Boise needs to realize that there's more to being a conference member than having a good football team.

Good grief, what are they going to have 26 basketball schools in the Big East?

it's amazing,

Alabama fans are butt hurt over Auburn's version of Rammer Jammer

Auburn fans are all hurt over this.

Bama fans say that Auburn's version of rammer jammer is classless due to the "hey alabama, hey alabama, we just beat the hell out of you, rammer jammer yella hamma go to hell alabama"

Bama's normal version of RJ is "hey Florida, Hey Florida, We just beat the hell out of you, rammer jammer yella hamma give em hell Alabama"

It's just amazing between the incest and mental ######ation that they could actually bitch about this crap.

Maybe the Hurricanes are going to dish out some coin for Gruden. I am not sure how reliable this site is but:

Sources have told CaneSport that final details are being hammered out and, barring a last minute glitch, Jon Gruden will be the next Miami Hurricanes football coach. Read on for this huge exclusive breaking news.

Rivals is related to Yahoo, not sure exactly how but it's what you get when you go to the college football tab from yahoo, so it's relatively reliable. Doesn't make the story foolproof, but it's not just a fan site.

I still don't see Gruden going to the NCAA, there are just too many potential NFL opportunities out there for him.

The chance to take a storied school back to national prominence may be too enticing. Miami has a stable full of great players but their coaching has been suspect. Not a lot of tweaks are needed and I think they can be a 1 or 2 loss team rather easily, especially considering how weak the ACC is.

Apparently Gruden is in love with Oregon's offence, so if this does turn out to be true, expect the hurricanes to become the Ducks 2.0

They certainly have the speed to do it. The question mark is Jacory Harris, both with his health and his decision making. Gruden is Mr. QB, so I'd expect him to get Jacory on the track most fans thought he'd be on by now.
