Can anyone point me in a good direction to jailbreak the 40gb (old) Apple TV? It needs to be easy and all I really wanna do is watch Hulu on my plasma

Don't know about this whole Hulu business, but I think this is the most popular hack.

Kind of an important one here ... Can anybody stream an HD file from their computer to their ATV 2.0 since 4.1 came out? I can't seem to.
Edit: oh damn, it's all hd I flattened using iflicks. But only stuff I've encoded in the last few days ... Older iflicks hd material is fine. Very confusing.

Well damn ... I mean that's great for you, but it leaves me confused. What the hell am I doing wrong? Going to try an appletv restore, maybe something went screwy when I updated.
edit: s***. Well I guess it's back to handbrake for me. I don't get it ... my older hd shows work.

I use Vuze's converter. Works fine. Better now that they've added ATV 2.0 to the converting options.

It would appear the iFlicks developer knows of the issue and is working on it. For now I'm going to try and find a way to get my Apple TV back to the previous firmware but I don't have a micro-usb cable (which is necessary).

My only concern is that the problem is on Apple's end (most likely) and not iFlicks' and we have to wait until Apple fixes it.

if so thats a nasty bug, since these are h264 vids.
your time to downgrade is limited unless you have your shsh blobs saved, so get a microusb cable fast!

I have ATV 2.0. I downloaded a movie last night and converted it from avi to mp4 (using the Apple TV preset in iFlicks). I'm watching it on my (recently updated) ATV right now.

avi's work fine, it's hd material formerly in MKV that gets the flattened treatment that seems to be the culprit.

A solution seems to have been found. Dev said he'd test it tonight and fix it has to do with chapters and the files

Just set up the perfect workflow
Random MKV File downloads
Hazel takes it from its subfolder, moves any file with extension .mkv to a folder called "iFlicks". Mac OS X Folder action takes any file in iFlicks and Flattens to itunes with iFlicks (no GUI). The file then gets sent to trash. Hazel takes care of the empty folders in /Downloads by moving them to trash.
Boom!

On the discussion boards he said he has found the fix and it will be included in the next beta (Hence the few day delay on the release)

Dude ... teach me.
I could do it all except for the Mac OS X Folder action ... I've never been able to get those to consistantly work (hence my love affair for Hazel). If you could go into a slight bit of detail I'll carve your likeness out of a bar of soap.
I had no idea there was a no GUI version of iflicks. Is it confusing to learn? Do you have to choose one or the other or can you use them in tandem?
