The refs tried hard to give the Riders another win, but Montreal came out firing in the 2nd half to overcome the poor officiating.

I'm not even a CFL fan, but OUTSTANDING JOB Montreal! Nothing better than seeing the worst fans in sports take another finals loss.

Here's to ABS in 2011!

Montreal definitely deserved it, although I thought it was sort of a lackluster affair.

Football really isnt a sport that lends itself to classy fans or fan bases. You want a classy audience got to figure skating or a polo match. You want drunken a$$hats go to a WWE/UFC/football or hockey event! Sadly, it's just the nature of the competition that will bring this out of any select group for any club.

The West Final WAS sold out, so I'm not sure where this is coming from?

A lot of attention on Calvillo with this potential cancer in his throat. I'm confident he will be okay, he has successfully defeated a form of cancer two years in a row now.

On the serious side, best wishes to him though, real class act on that squad.

Really,on what play's did all these occur?actually looked like the refs did a decent job bothways.

The way i see it if the refs/and or league were trying to hand the riders the game, montreal would've had way more penalties would they not?

edit:that being you are right montreal did come out firing and kudos to them for winning. And i'm sure if you ask any of the players on montreal officiating had nothing to do with it.one way or the other

I didn't buy into any of the conspiracy crap last week when the Stamps lost to the Riders; I usually think conspiracy people are nuts. I also doubt that the refs were at all in the Riders corner.

What I did wonder about during the game was during that big drive that Mtl ran with the fake punt. The play was stopped TWICE for around 2 minutes by the refs - supposedly the first time to check player eligibility (shouldn't they have done that at the start of the game?) and then because they had a problem with the down marker sign being wrong.

Again, I'm not saying the refs were trying to have Sk. win, but why was there these long momentum-killing delays, in the same drive where Mtl took over the lead?

I don't think the Riders played well, neither did Montreal. Durant threw it well but not far enough. Were there any big plays? Did the Riders put pressure on the Als secondary? Not really? Punting twice inside the opponents 40? End up losing by a FG. That game was there for the Riders and they didn't take it. I have to blame Miller, he was just too timid. Can't win championships playing that conservative, gotta grab it.

Sorry doesn't work that way. Rider fans might look like idiots to you guys, but in this thread Stamp fans aren't being represented much better.

Peace out.
How are Stamps fans acting like idiots in this thread? Because we're laughing at the continued failure of our biggest rival - on a Calgary-based message board no less. Yep, we're sure jerks here. Guess all the posters who crack 7uongo jokes or cheer when the Canucks and Oilers lose are "acting like idiots" too.

Quit being a baby.

thing is it the delays hurt the defence just as much..it kills any momentum they may of had.you could even say that the delays actually helped montreal, giving them more time to figure out there plays.

Yes but not everyone showed up due to the weather so typical uneducated Rider fans took that as fans not supporting the team. The Fan 960 was talking about Rider fans calling in and emailing after the game calling out Stamps fans for not selling out. They had a good laugh about it and they only regretted not putting them on live to show them up by stating 'did you realize the Riders did not sell out the semi-final?'.

This usually favours the defense as it give them rest and they can regroup especially if the offense has been moving the ball. You always hear that the defense gets tired being on the field all game, you never hear that the offense gets tired from being on the field all day.

The reffing was surprisingly good outside of the PI call in the end zone to save another Riders drive and then ignoring the same play by the Riders defender later in the game to kill a Als drive.

Except in that situation it helped the Riders get the right personel in and the Las didn't need more time to decide what to do on a 2 and 1. They did what they always do run Mcpherson up the middle with his option to kick it outside if need be.

I don't think it was done on purpose by the refs just part of their overal incompetance.

To compare the Canucks to the riders you'd have to look at diving, and Dressler is the best of the best in the CFL.

The loss of there everyday kicker Luca Congi loomed large on the Riders, which I thought would come back to bite them at some point in time.

The pass interference call on Cox (covering Getzlaf) when the Riders were 2nd and goal was one that stood out to me. It seems that every single game the Riders get at least one PI call when they're in the red zone, that leads to them scoring a touchdown instead of having to settle for a field goal.

How many other teams in the league do you see getting a fresh set of downs from the goal line constantly?
