I wish I was little bit taller,
I wish I was a baller
I wish I had a girl who looked good
I would call her
I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat
and a '64 Impala

It's only 2 grand...come on family, you know you want to.
I tend to be my own best santa though. I recently bought myself two Fx lenses (the new 28-300VR 3.5-5.6, and the super tank Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8) to replace some older Dx junkers.

Well, I didn't want to be too greedy... lol How do you find the new 28-300?
Are you shooting with the D3 or D700?

So far it's pretty great. It's not a pro level lens, but it's a great travel lens as it cuts out a lot of extra weight from my bag (since it's range kind of does it all). For day to day photography, I think it's fantastic. Heavier than I thought though....which is not necessarily a bad thing.
I'm actually shooting with an old D80 at the moment so I'm not really getting FX capability yet (unless i switch to my film F4). I'm hoping to upgrade to an FX camera as soon as that D700 successor comes out (whenever that is!), and want to start buying only FX from now on and rather have fewer lenses, but better quality. I was really tempted to get the 7000 though.

how about things under $20?
my family has decided that we don't want to spend heaps on Christmas, we should limit gifts to under $20.
so for under $20 what would you want?
(I am not sure what I would want, or what to get them) most things under $20 people just buy, so I am lost, what would you get your family members?

I shot with a D80 for a few years, great camera for it's time.
Hopefully the D700 successor rocks, I looking forward to it as well.

I normally do DVDs in situations like that.
If you look in the bargain bins at WalMart etc you can normally seasons of older shows for $10-$20, which if it is something they would like, awesome. Another good place for TV Seasons is Amazon.ca, most of my TV DVD's have come from there, in the $20-$30 range for used seasons of current shows. If you don't mind getting possible knock-off seasons ebay works as well.
