Watching the Jets is just painful for me. They're not smooth, but every week they either find a way to win or the opposing team finds a way to screw it up.

Why is Joe Theismann in any broadcast booth? He is a complete fool who got fired from MNF for being so bad but the NFL Network picks him up.

He is terrible.

Couldn't watch it live so I avoided human contact as best I could today and just watched the Saints/Cowboys game on the PVR. Set the extra half hour in case it ran longer, but it ran so f'n long that the feed cut out in the last minute during the Cowboys final drive, that RGMG. Over 3.5hrs, that's gotta be the longest regular season non-overtime game I've ever seen (Keith Urban didn't help).

Malcolm Jenkins with one of the plays of the year at the end there, what a game-saver. Kinda reminds me of Meachem play against the Redskins last year.

So painful!

The answer to last nights pre-game question "Are the Jets really that good?" should have been:

No! No, they're not! They've needed last minute heroics and some lucky breaks to beat some pretty mediocre teams. Their oponents have a combined 47-66 record to date and they've only played 3 games against oponents over .500! Of those 3 games they've gone 1-2... Bills, Vikings, Broncos, Lions, Browns and now Bengals are some of the "tough" competition the Jets have faced this year.

players have to be smarter also, at that point in the game, you CANT allow the ball to hit the turf... you just cant, much like the play a couple weeks ago, where Stucky in Cleveland got the ball stripped...

Broncos might have their own Spygate going on:

Could be an ugly week for the Dolphins. It sounds like Marshall will not play in Oakland vs the Raiders but it based on yesterday the Fins are leaning towards starting Chad Henne at QB.

Pittsburgh is 2-3 against teams over .500 so I guess they aren't really that good either. The Pats are 3-1 against over .500 teams. I really wish the Jets had lost to the Browns instead of a good team, because apparently losing to bad teams doesn't hurt your reputation. Also, the Jets beat the Patriots and were in all of their games against the better teams. They got blown out by no one. Falcons are 3-2 against .500 teams. Saints are 2-1 against .500 teams. They are lucky too, because they lost to 2 bad teams and by your logic those don't tarnish your reputation. By the way Jets and Pats have same schedule and same record. The Jets haven't played the Steelers yet and the Pats haven't played the Packers yet. It's pretty much a wash. I think the fact that no one has a great record againt the other elite teams goes to show you that maybe there's some sort of parity at the top of the league.

I think some need to accept the fact that the Jets are a really really good team...and i am no fan, believe me.

They can run the ball, pass the ball and play unreal defense at times. Nothing there not to commend them for.

Parity is what the NFL has going on this year like no other.

It's crazy to think that if the season ended today a team like the Patriots would have to go on the road and play the Jaguars, or that the Jets who are tied for the best record in the NFL might end up as a wild card team. The Steelers also would be a wild card team on their way to KC. I think things will right themselves here and San Diego and Indianapolis will find their way into the playoffs. Should that happen there is going to be 6 pretty good teams from each Conference in the playoffs, but it's wide open.

At this point teams like Green Bay, Philly, Atlanta, and New Orleans are all making a case for being the top team in the NFC. Even the Bears who no one seems to respect still have a pretty dominating defence. Whoever wins the NFL West will be a real red herring. But it wouldn't surprise me to see the Seahawks win that home playoff game if they end up winning that Division.

It looks to make for one of the most interesting playoffs ever...it will probably end up being a bunch of unpredictable blow outs.

Apparently Gradkowski is starting for the Raiders. And the Fins just announced Marshall is out and didn't travel with the team.

Boy McDaniels digs that grave deeper every week. It's going to be hard to sell Broncos fans on keeping him for another year.

I haven't gone through the full story, but how is this McDaniels fault? He refused to watch the tape and Denver fired the dude that got it. It is mandatory to fine both the team and head coach in this situation as per NFL policy.

Again, didn't go through the full story so I might have missed something.

Do you really think McDaniels didn't watch the tape? These guys take every advantage they can to win games.

I watched the game. IF he watched the tape he should be fired immediately because they played like they didn't watch the tape. How could you watch the tape and be THAT bad?

I honestly don't know. It's 50-50 in my mind. I could see him not watching it because if someone found about it, it could cost him his job. So I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't watch it, as the article suggested.

Steve Scarnecchia, the person responsible for the illicit taping earlier this month, worked for New England when the Patriots allegedly taped St. Louis Rams practices before Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002.
Eyebrows were raised a few years back when McDaniels hired the guy due to him being linked with the spygate video crew and look what happens again. There's no way Scarnecchia is doing this without McDaniels knowledge. No way.

I'm sure McDaniels recommended Scarnecchia for the job, if not hired him himself. I find it hard to believe he was taping because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Maybe I'm just a skeptic...

Edit: What the guy borrowing the Saints baghead said. ^
