And you help make my point. Layla on the D&TD album was upbeat and edgy. Layla on the early ninties unplugged album was boring as hell.
Duane Allman killed it on Layla.

Oh, I tried plenty of time to get into it. Just couldn't get on board. I was seriously extremly bored and irritated listening to Kid A and Amnesiac. I quit on them after those two.

On the flip side, one band that I seriously have a hate on for is Billy Talent. Yet I loved Rusted from the Rain.
The lead singer of Billy Talent can get a bit annoying, but i think they've come up with some of the better riffs of the last 6 or 7 years or so.

When I read the title the 2 songs that came to mind were:

Bugs by Pearl Jam on Vitagoly and Fitter Happier by Radiohead on OK Computer. Both are great albums but those are 2 super crap songs (if you can even classify them as songs).

They are ot perfect albums, and they have their weaker tracks, but also contain some fantastic music, as do In Rainbows and Hail to the Thief.

I just thought of a song on an album that I usually skip over.

Cold Day in the Sun on the Foo Fighters In Your Honor album disc 2. It is by no means a bad song (I like it, actually), but it just doesn't go with the flow of that disc.

You're completely right. They had 4 albums as a power metal band, but nobody knows or admits it. Then again, I never liked any of their songs.

Oddly enough, this album has the highest overall rating of theirs on Encylcopaedia Metallum.
