Bryan Smolinski will miss tonight's game against the Hurricanes with a bruised chest.
The injury is not serious, and Smolinksi expects to be back in the lineup for Friday night's game versus the Islanders. The team has called up Denis Hamel to take his roster spot.

For the 800th time...the ONLY way a player can play in the CPHL if he is on Rotoworld is if he is listed as DAY-to-DAY under EXPECTED RETURN.
Bryan Smolinski is not listed as such which means he can not play and must go on the IR.

Look...I really don't give a rat's ass if it is the 800th time or not.
He was not on the list when I went to sleep. He is on it now. He will play the next game according to several published reports... Seems ridiculous to put him on the IR
Further, there are players now listed as day-to-day that are not playing and likely are days away from doing so...Why the hell should should a player who really is day-to-day be forced to the IR? Do we all lack the basic common sense to make that call?
The attitude sucks, btw MJK and we could do with a little less of it. Rules should be open to discussion. If they seem to be....unfair or wrong, or whatever then someone should never feel that they cannot speak up. A reasonable discourse over that rule should follow; not some holier than thou shouting. Blindly following rules without thinking seems.....scary.
my 2 scheckels worth and I will move him but it REALLY seems like a waste of time, effort and that we are unable to use the two brain cells God (or whatever) has given us.

a FYI. The people who post these IR lists for the league are the CPHL IR Narks. They were approached undercover by KG and begged to join. They are generally long termers who understand the IR and why players must go on IR. I suggest listening or asking another GM for clarification if misunderstood. Also...it doesnt matter what the write up says, if they arent day to day they cannot play....period end of story. This has been discussed ad nauseum for a long time and was put in place to stop GMs from taking advantage.
Thanks.

This debate has surfaced continually over the years. Basically, we all agree the only good part of this rule is that it is black and white. We need to have a source, rotoworld is updated regularily. It is the source. Move players on an off the IR accordingly. Remember: Day to day - they can play.

If you have a problem with the rules, there's a neat little feature on your roster page called: Bickering/Suggestions?
This has also been discussed at great length.

I would prefer to "bicker" (whine, bitch, **** and moan- your choice!) in a public forum where the communication is open to many people's ideas, opinions and ridicule(!). There is a greater liklihood of finding a positive resolution and a better opportunity for finding out whether others have the same opinions, complaints, ideas, etc.

Rotoworld sucks but what can you do. In terms of injuries, it's probably updated more than any other site out there. If we're going to follow NHL injuries than we have to follow a site... none of us have medical information from each and every NHL team on their players. For better or for worse, rotoworld is that site.
The bottom line is that we all use it. We all get screwed over by rotoworld during the course of the season. Andrei Zyuzin has been out for a week for 3 weeks, I swear. But I'd rather get screwed over by rotoworld than by other GM's.

Please note the rules..we dont allow bickering on the messgae board...hence the iuse of the bickering button on your team page.
Firing General Managers
The CPHL commissioners reserve full rights to remove a GM from active duty. Reasons for dismisal can range from the following:
(1) If it becomes apparent that a General Manager is not participating in any league activities, (roster changes, drafts, chats, and posting on the message board) they may lose their franchise and another General Manager will take over. All teams are property of the CPHL!
(2) Any General Manager using the Message Board or MSN Messenger for advertising purposes or abusive behavior will be immediately terminated. No Exceptions!!
(3) Any General Manager may propose that another General Manager be removed from the league. Email reasons to cphl1@yahoo.com and if there are sufficient reasons to support your case that General Manager could be terminated we will discuss it with all parties.
(4) The CPHL head office will determine how much notice a General Manger will be given before dismissal and can perform actions without warning it the need is felt.
The CPHL intends to uphold its image at all times and that includes its portrayal on the Message Board or on MSN Messenger. There are rules for using the CPHL website as a communication tool and failure to adhere to these rules could result in serious reprimand and even dismissal. No profane language is to ever be used in CPHL communications. Also, no personal insults directed toward any other General Manager is permitted or any other kinds of defamation of character or negative mannerisms are allowed. Remember, this is a fun league and there is NEVER any justifiable reason to make an issue become personal. The Message Board is only to be used to communicate with the league about your team and its related issues. Again, the CPHL practices a zero tolerance level of discipline with its policies and Head Office Commissioners will deal with all offenses on an individual basis

So, by being unable to find out what others think, have found out, know to be true/false etc. in the forums we have no idea if what we think, believe to be true, etc is valid. We cannot find out if a wild idea that could be construed as bitching has widespread support...
Ok...c'est la vie...Youse da boss dere. I bow to your demands

Every GM in this league, with the exception of you it seems, is going by Rotoworld. We have all agreed it is the best that we can do to manage injuries.
