Dude, you're complaining that all he did to win the debate was change the meaning of the word, which is a pretty simple/cynical way of looking at what he actually said/meant.
I don't have to know what the other side, or other members of his side said. The debate was set up by an anti-Israel journalist who it would be reasonable to assume just wanted a venue to present anti-Israel arguments.
What this guy did was comandeer the "Pro-Rouge" side, to make the point that Israel is a valid, valuable, progressive, and brave member of the international community. A stance that I'd be willing to bet the person who proposed the "Is Israel a Rouge State?" debate isn't too happy to see supported on "Their side" of the debate. Critisizing him for just redefining the word "Rouge" to win the debate, totally misses his message, the point he was trying to make, and the incredibly clever method in which he delivered it.
