Rush's Limelight. The real verse is Living in a fisheye lens but I grew up singing it as Living on a fish island.

Suburbia by The Matthew Good Band
Lyric: Baby if I was in demand, you would be mine.
Me: Suburbia has got to be a top 10 song for me
Buddy: I don't know ... i just don't really like it.
Me: You are insane. How can you not like it?
Buddy: It's just that one line, I just can't get over it
Me: ??
Buddy: You know, "baby if I was into men, you would be mine"
Me: Oh my god.

There's also a similar SNL skit.

For years, I thought the lyric in Journey's Faithfully was...
"And to love an amusing man
ain't always what it's supposed to be."

Springsteen joked that it never took off until MM changed the lyrics to a feminine hygiene product.

Not entirely on topic, but entertaining none-the-less.
A rough translation provided by a commenter:
The girl says:"Hey teacher, why did you write a song with words that no one can understand?"
And the teacher says: "Because I think today in the world we don't understand each other, and don't care."
"It refers ironically to the fact that many Italians listen to English/American music without understanding it! So the song sounds like a perfect English one!"

But you can actually understand the lyric when he sings it.

Matthew Good Avalanche at around the 2:46 mark theres a spoken word part. I dont know what it's actually saying. I think it's "I talk about you", but its much more entertaining as "taco bell shoes"
