Default Non-Confidence Motion Released...

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2...317033-cp.html

Love the wording:
Quote:
"That the House condemns the government for its arrogance in refusing to compromise with the opposition parties over the timing of the next general election and for its 'culture of entitlement,' corruption, scandal, and gross abuse of public funds for political purposes and, consequently, the government no longer has the confidence of the House."
So, will it work? Discuss...

Work? Don't think anyone can truly win this, at best the Cons would squeek a minority should they win and at best for the libs, I believe, is a bigger majority though still a minority. Which would still foster resentment and breed entitlement.
As for the statment, "the arrogance in refusing to compromise", **** how transparent is that.

Perhaps I should have said: Will it 'pass'? as opposed to 'work'.

Whether you like politics of the NDP or not (I generally don't), they did try to work with Martin on this very issue. Layton was always the swing to keeping the current government in power. If you're Martin looking at another Minority Gov even after this, why tick off your closest ally in the house?

Martin didn't do anything special to tick off the NDP, it was obvious from the start that the Libs were dangling the carrot of social spending in the budget over the NDP's heads....as soon as those motions were passed, and the NDP got thier stamp on some of these spending initatives, the NDP had no use for the Libs, or, did the Libs have any use for the NDP, really.

The NDP were used/provided the Libs with 6-10 months of reprieve so that voter apathy could set in once again, and the Sponsorship scandal would be sent to the back pages of the paper in time for the next election.

So sad that people in Canada are so consistently stupid. They throw the Liberals back in over and over despite the fact they can clearly see them just helping themselves to the spoils of power.

I really just don't understand why Canadians settle for status quo and are so incredibly complacent. The poor second cousin role fits us I guess!!!

Such stupid and loser comments on so many levels. Without an election even called yet you've gotten Canadians voting again for the Libs. Then call them stupid for it. Don't get me wrong I agree with Klein who also knows a bad thing when he sees it, as in the Cons and their agenda and leadership, but still stupid to call the country stupid for making a choice that isn't even being made yet.
