tell me about it, I bought an xbox last year - just started getting good at MW2 after it came out and then haven't played an FPS on it since. Now I'm back at square one with the controllers. haha.

Funny thing is... I played both COD for PS3 and Comp - it seems like the strategies are completely different for both games. Because you can't twitch as quick enough on PS3, it seems more tactical and people use their teammates a lot more.
I agree but all my buddies went console a couple years ago.
screw them then I'm not going to buy a console just to play videogames with friends because it just isn't fun. It's more like excruciating and I don't just mean trying to aim and move with the game pad competitively but also the restrictions placed on you and the inability to modify games. I cannot play any game, 1st or 3rd person with the typical console field of view which around is 60 degrees (because consoles need to save processing power so they zoom in the view). It makes me dizzy. A more natural field of view field of view for 16:9 or 16:10 is actually 75-85° to avoid nausea when moving around in a 3D game. 60° is like walking around in real life looking through binoculars strapped to your head. I'm not saying PC games always fix this but it's possible to hack the games yourself or use 3rd party programs (which aren't considered cheats by punkbuster) to do so.
Has anyone had terrible lag? Even in singleplayer its brutal, almost to the point of unplayable.
What platform are you playing on? Lag is impossible in single player as lag is latency of your connection to the game server. Do you mean the game is choppy as in not having enough frames per second or hiccuping in performance?

My mistake, Its on PC and the framerate is extremely choppy.
My PC is beyond the min specs and ran other games at full settings such as ME2.

What are your PC specs? Do you have the latest patch?
I can run the game at 1680x1050 with max graphics and 4X AA and it never drops below 60 frames per second, it's really smooth.
Lag in multiplayer is commonly known though. I believe one issue was that the game was very choppy on single or dual core PCs. I think the patch was supposed to fix that.
I run at 1920x1080 with all the bells and whistles and have never had a single frame rate drop even in the most intense battles. Think you just need a hardware upgrade.
I already have a decent PC. I've always just enjoyed shooters more on consoles. It started with the Dreamcast and games like Quake III, UT and Alien Front Online (sort of a a shooter heh), to PlayStation and the SOCOM series and now the 360 with CoD and others. I've just always been like this. Most of the people I know game on console too so that has an effect on what system I'll usually buy a game on.
Only PC shooter I actually played a lot was Enemy Territory and was years ago.
What's everyone's favorite weapon so far? I've been rocking the FAMAS with reflex scope/dual mags lately and have seen my kill ratio climb quite significantly.
I am actually quite impressed so far. Only played multiplayer though, saving single player for when I am bored of multiplayer.
The biggest reason for improvement is the pure team death match in barebones. No attatchments, perks, equipment, kill streaks.
Nothing but guns. A few dicks have started using rocket launchers and grenade launchers but they usually get told to eff off pretty quick.
Also, the decoy thing is amazing. I find a nice little spot to hide out. Throw out the decoy and wait for the lemmings to come a running. Then I shoot them all in the back.
Some jagoff was playing barebones pure and started complaining about how hardcore is so much better so I tried it out. Yeah hardcore must be where all the biggest dicks go to be hardcore dicks. It was nothing but campers and other jerkoffs.
My fave map is Jungle. I like the little ledge that you can climb up on and snipe people from.
After about 21hrs since this past friday I have about 1600 kills and like 1590 deaths. Huge improvement on my .76 ratio I had with MW2.
I don't think there was a barebones way to play in MW2. Honestly for anyone who gets tired of dbags with grenade launchers (the attachment and the secondary weapon), lame kill streaks, and other general dbaggery try barebones pure team deathmatch. It is everything I like about FPS without all the extra crap add ons.
Oh and the worst map in history is Grid. I hate that stupid map.

Haha - I laughed out loud at this part because I freaking love Hardcore mode. not because I like to camp but because I suck so bad with the controller I need to hit people once to kill them. Having to hit a moving target multiple times in regular TDM is the suck for me.
