Default Marlins to play hardball

with the city of Miami. They have said they will look into relocation as early as 2008 if they do not get a new stadium. Las Vegas here comes your pro sports franchise?!

What a roller-coaster of a franchise.

They've experienced just about everything they can in their short existence. World series glory, selling their players, rebuilding, and now possible re-location.

Jeffrey Loria, the biggest a-hole in sports strikes again. I hate this guy with a passion, poor Marlins.

I can't blame them for moving. Attendance is terrible in Miami and they have won two World Series:

They've also been through several fire sales, and outside of the two times they bought titles, couldnt build a team to save their lives (think of the "talent" the Cannons got stuck with back in the day.)

This is basically another Expos situation, with Tampa Bay quickly to follow.

On the one hand, the City of Miami has constantly refused to help the Marlins owners - all three of the groups that have owned the team - build a decent baseball park.

On the other hand, I don't see why American team owners should expect to have stadiums given to them for nothing. Build your own damn ballpark.

Well it's not a good baseball stadium. Also the summer weather in South Florida isn't exactly condusive to going to watch a baseball game. I do wonder where the hell they'd go though. It's not like they're going to be able to relocate to a bigger market.
