"We want to crack down on hand-fighting and jersey tugs while the football is in the air on forward passes. Players who consistently get away with this include Brandon Browner and Dwight Anderson. Bingo. League accomplishes mission...they've done nothing wrong technically, and no official would be the wiser.

BS. The league certainly sends out memos that indicate that certain actions are to be specifically watched for (and this might include video that in turn identifies offenders), but the naming of players? Unless you have some actual proof of this you're simply blowing smoke.

Lots of people thought this was offside, but in reality was just impecibally timed by Dressler. Not saying that recievers don't go offside sometimes, and the league has been quite leniant towards this WITH ALL TEAMS, but a well timed run can look offsides to tv viewers.

2007 - 3,539,000 (Riders/Bombers)
2006 - 4,012,000 (Lions/Als)
2005 - 4,031,000 (Esks/Als)
2004 - 4,012,000 (Lions/Argos)
2003 - 4.4 million (Esks/Als)
2002 - 5.2 million (Esks/Als)
So the lowest rated Grey Cup in the last 7 years involved the Riders. Sure, I'm sure that has a lot to do with the fact the other team is the Bombers, but keep in mind that the Stamps/Als game was the first game on cable which has a smaller audience compared to the CBC

Just to be clear I don't think Browner and Anderson are guaranteed pass interference penalties because of ref bias, it's because they suck.
I wouldn't mind if both of them left the Stamps next year.

Browner and Anderson get more PI calls against them because they are probably the 2 most physical CBs in the CFL.
As such they play a high risk, high reward game. In fact, since they are so physical they might get away with more PI calls because the refs don't want to call PI on every single play.
That means that they do occasionally hurt the Stamps but more often than not their physical play works to their advantage.
Any suggestion that the league has any sort of agenda is insane. If someone was drinking a whole lot of kool aid they might be able to make a case that TSN has an agenda but what does that have to do with reffing? TSN's agenda is to sell the CFL. If that means talking up Rider fans every week then that's what they'll do.

There tends to be a hated against the Calgary teams by the media according to CP (Or, in this case, a love of some other team).
CBC hates the Flames (Oddly enough, Weekes in particular is accused by other fanbases on FAVOURING the Flames, but it seems here he's portrayed as anti-Calgary). TSN hates the Flames (Ferraro in particular). Refs are blind to anybody but the Flames. All journalists covering the Flames suck (Apparantly Duha sucks now too).
As for all the offsides, the refs are always lenient on them. Several times both the Lions and the 'riders seemed offside. It's just impossible to be strict with them because, from ground level and in real time, it's hard to get these calls consistantly right (and consistent on a game-to-game basis).
It's just part of the CFL system, making it great (fun offensive plays can set up through it) and horrible (inconsistant calls) at the same time.

Does bad weather favour the Stamps? I think so, because of Reynolds and Cornish. Durant will have a harder time completing the long bomb in cold weather.

Cornish might fumble much easier, especially after recovering from a concussion.

I think it does. The stamps running game is crucial to the rest of their offense and they seem to sputter when deviating from that game plan.

8 Stamps make the CFL All-Star Team: Burris, Lewis, Archibald, Tsoumpas, Simpson, Anderson, Browner and Dales. So does that mean Burris might actually get MOP this year?

This is true. However, if it is snowy and slippery on the field it definitely favors the receivers and the passing game.

Fortunately Calgary is pretty good at that as well.

Cold weather in football is just weird.
Yes the Stamps have a huge advantage due to the running game.
The Rider receivers have a big advantage because of the slippery turf
The Stamps secondary has a big advanatage because its tough to complete longer passes in gusting wind with a frozen ball.
Defensive lineman have an advantage in passing situations

The Riders have good receivers but but I'll take Lewis, Rambo, and Bryant any day over Dressler, Fantuz, and Getzlaf. Riders offense is pretty vanilla as it's crossing/rub patterns, deep patters, and wide patterns to the RB. Stampeders offense is much more diverse and complex as they can line up and run any play in the book depending less on deep patterns and rub plays.

Cornish has fumbled because of helmet on ball contact not because he's gotten stripped. That's a huge key. There's not much a player can do to protect the football against it being hit with a helmet so I wouldn't be too worried about Cornish's fumbling "issues".

I think I misspoke, receivers have a huge advantage in the cold weather because of the slippery conditions.
I love the Stamps receivers and I think they're a bit more explosive then the Riders and a lot more physical on down field blocks. However nobody fights for the ball harder then the Rider group and makes more circus type catches. To be honest I think that Durant is a pretty average QB that benefits from his receiving core making him look way better then he is.

As long as Durant doesn't do those 1990s Damon Allen pump fakes we should be fine.
Browner and Anderson are guaranteed to give up at least 1 big play per game though.
Our offence will need to score lots.
