Report: Kovalchuk Has Been Moved
The Toronto Maple Leafs are believed to have traded Ilya Kovalchuk tonight. Team officials are unable to confirm the speculation at this time, as the trade has yet to be sent to the league.
It is believed that GM Prototype had discussions all afternoon with many GMs, and called the sniper to his office.
Kovalchuk was seen shaking hands, and hugging former teammates soon after.
It's believe that team GM Prototype will release more details when they become available.

Shaking hands? He should have been making out with a hot chick and celebrating his departure from Toronto.

Lots of big names being moved - perhaps I should stop simming for a few days more often.

We get bored and have the time to mix things up. It's all good.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have shipped Ilya Kovalchuk to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Michael Neuwirth, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Cory Stillman. The Leafs ship Matt Donovan along with Ilya. Draft picks and money we also exchanged.
The Leafs thank Joe for the talks, as crazy as they may have gotten.

I just wana add as much as I can and Ilya is an elite talent I just couldn't pass on.
There were couple times when I almost walked away from this deal but Rob stuck with it and made me come back to it. Good on him.
Obviously it's tough losing a young netminder like Neuwirth but for a guy like Ilya, it had to be done. Ekman-Larsson has huge potential and wish both of the best in Toronto.
The Flyers have run out of cheese room again, we should really look at modifying this rule next summer.
The Flyers will throw out the following lines versus the Rangers next time the game are simmed.
Kovulchuk-Savard-Nash
Zetterberg-Vermette-Semin
Pominville-Bolland-Ward
Frolik-Nichol-Fehr
Stafford
I think my offense is okay for now. Although if I can find a way to get cheese, I'll look to upgrade.

Congrats to the Flyers. No bones about it, I made an offer on Kovalchuk as well but got beat out - I'd like to think just slightly. If I couldn't have him, then I'm glad you got the deal you were looking for all along Rob.

IMO this is an absolute steal for the Flyers, Neuwirth may be the real deal, but I am not sure that you can tell that 40 games into his career. I think it will be a while to see what he is worth especially since his wins will be inflated by playing on a powerhouse. OEL is a great prospect dont get me wrong but he is a good ways away from a solid rating.
The Leafs get two great assets but even as a rebuilding squad I am not sure this makes sense.
Time will tell I guess if these prospects pan out.

Win for the Flyers. Neuvirth is totally unproven to me and OEL could be awesome, but that is a few years down the road at least. If one of these two don't materialize as expected/hoped then its a loss for Toronto.

Toronto is re-building and they made a move for a young goalie that's making his mark with the Caps. I really like OEL and I'm jealous that the Coyotes have him. The Flyers, meanwhile, get the "name" of the trade and someone that will make an impact right away.

Nobody "could have beat that". Or, they didn't step up to the plate.
By about 3 O'Clock today, I tried to talk to everyone who had put in an offer over the last two weeks, except maybe 1 or 2 GMs. With every offer I clearified with other GMs, I always came back to this one.
Yeah, I didn't get much in the way of proven. But the potential is outstanding.
And incase you didn't read any of my previous posts, I am in a rebuild. And while most of the other offers had some great young pieces, I couldn't shake bringing in a young goalie like Neuwirth.
I do want to thank all the GMs I dealt with today. This process of this rebuild, has been humbling, and at times, harder than the building of the Nordique I went through.
And, the revolving door continues in Toronto, as we look to move players like Tim Connolly, Brad Richards, and Sami Salo.

You also had your chance and you admitted your offer wasn't as good as mine and then you say you like this deal for me, shows you how bad your offer was.
