Some kinda team.

The youngest team in the AHL is tied for second in the league for points. Certainly good news.

I'm wondering at what point Erixon leaves the SEL and comes to the Heat. The SEL is a very strong league to play in, so it's good for his development, but eventually he will have to adjust to the NA game. Maybe next year?
Also, Ortio's stats in the SM-LIIGA 8 GP 2-4-2 record 3.32 GAA .912 SV%

Keetley is an RFA next season, Irving is an RFA next season, and it's likely we won't keep around Lameroux for next season. So even if we got rid of Lameroux and Keetley, and kept Irving, there is room for Ortio to come to the Heat.
Maybe Irving and Ortio will make a great tandem since the Heat play so many back-to-back games and need TWO reliable goaltenders.

Too bad we don't have any promising prospects.
Good to hear that the kids are doing well, especially with so many kids in their first year of pro hockey.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the organization let Keetley walk, he hasn't shown any signs of progressing lately and Irving has definitely passed him.

Heat lose in a shootout this afternoon. They've gotten 11 points in 6 games.
Scorers:
Cameron (from Nyren and Watt)
Keith (from Laing and Brodie)
Meyers (from Armstrong)
Brodie (from Nemisz and Armstrong)

I believe in the Jays.

Just out of curiousity is Grantham hurt? He's only played 3 games this year. And how long is Wahl going to stay in the doghouse? Seems like a waste for him to not play.

Cameron has goals in three straight games, if I'm not mistaken. He looks to have adjusted to the AHL, it seems.

The Heat are 9-4-1 since T.J. Brodie got sent down.
The Heat are now 10-3-0 in games Leland Irving starts and 1-3-2 when he doesn't.

The Heat have been doing great this season.
AHL Standings
San Antonio - 25 pts
Portland - 25 pts
Abbotsford - 24 pts
We've played a couple more games, but they are in the top 3 teams in the league right now and they are really scoring by committee. Irving is also excelling this season so far.

Patterson got hurt last night. Knee injury. Not sure how serious.
Sutters return will keep Abby rolling. Look for him to center the top line with Nemisz and Rheault (or Bouma, who has been there the last couple games).

A lot depends on [a] how badly hurt Patterson is and [b] whether or not Playfair is comfortable rolling with seven d-man dressed. A return to the AHL could be in the cards for young Hugo Carpentier.

Man. Every year with all these flippin injuries to our prospects.
Every year with poor Pelech and Chucko.
Negrin seems to be getting injured every year as well.
Now with Bancks and Patterson looking so good to start only to get hurt.
Wahl hurt after having a pretty decent camp.
Armstrong every year too it seems.
Hard for these guys to develop properly if they're fighting injuries all the time.

Not good to hear that Wahl is injured, but im glad hes not just being a healthy scratch like it was thought around here.
Any news on how long he will be out for?

It's a shame that Wahl is injured. The Heat are in Peoria to play 2 this weekend and I was really hoping to see him.

Jordan Fulton--is he still Flames property?
I see he is playing for Kalamazoo in the ECHL (no longer at UMD as stated in post #1). His 10 points ties him with four other players for top rookie scorer in the ECHL to date.
His profile exists on calgaryflames.com but is not included under "In The System".

He is no longer Flames property. Calgary had until August 15 to sign him to a contract but declined. August 15 was the deadline for all 2010 NCAA graduating seniors to be signed by the teams holding their NHL rights.
