Awesome series of photos. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.

The guy has balls... If I saw a bison and bear barreling towards me like that I'd run, instead of taking pictures, so I wouldn't become the post bison dessert.

Was about to say this. I hope he was in a vehicle or something otherwise his cojones are bigger than the bison.

Clearly viral marketing for a next generation zombie movie.

Wypyszinski stopped his car on the desolate highway and took out his camera.

"I stood along the car as long as I thought it was safe."

The two beasts passed the man by without paying any notice.

What do they mean by "hot spots" in the article - power lines?

I have seen bison run, I would never have thought a bear could keep up with them.

I think hot spots would be thermal vents or very hot springs.

I think they mean the hot springs. I read in the paper that the bison severely burnt themselves and had to be put down as a result...

Pretty amazing stuff. Its unusual to encounter either one of these on a paved road, nevermind both at once in a life and death chase.

Glad the Bison was put down ... that looks unbelievably painful.

Bears could keep up with almost anything. It's whether or not the want to spend the energy doing so. The bison was injured so the bear probably though low risk high reward and gave chase.

I have been about that close to both a grizzly and black bears. They are so awesome.
