Default *SOLVED*Question about a small grocery store in Sunnyside and Beef Jerky

Ok my mother in law is coming to town from Calgary. She always brings the best beef jerky ever made. I dont know the name of it but she only knew of one place that sold it.

It was at a small corner grocery store in Sunny Side. I think maybe sunny side grocers .... off of Memorial Drive before 10 st . Does anyone know why and when it closed?

As for the Beef Jerky...
If anyone is familiar with the jerky they sold in there, do you know where else sells it? It was kept in a fridge near the back and came in multiple flavors. My favorite was Teriyaki . The beef jerky itself was a in a large bag and had multiple 1 " ( or so) strips that were 10-14 inches long....

Sorry for the vague info but this is my favorite jerky in the world and hope we can find it somewhere .

Are you thinking Jerky King on 14th St and 12 Ave. SW?

Incongruous as it sounds, it looks like a Chinese takeout joint that also makes beef jerky. Never tried it, but drive by it all the time.

Not Sunnyside, but basically on the south side of the river from that area.

Tried it once years ago and it wasn't that great. My favourite is Calgary Meats on Edmonton Trail.

So the jerky was in plastic packages with multiple pieces? Or one of those containers where you take your life in your hands and pull a piece out that could have been in there for 8 years or handled by diseased degenerates?

Was it that mushed up and formed jerky or was it actual pieces of meat?

If it was refrigerated, in plastic packages, was it maybe something locally made and not really a commercial product? Also some suggestions on chowhound. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/514541

Now if you'll excuse me there is some buffalo jerky from Drumheller in my fridge calling for me...
