I find that when I get in a rut, that the best thing to do is find something on your to do list that you've been putting off for the longest time and do it.
Say you've always wanted to try fencing for something different, or learn piano or whatever. Instead of saying I'd like to do that, do it. It'll get you doing something different and will help to break up the monotony.
