Turns out booze does a lot your brain and body, which means that link is kind of a long read.

You have saved every image ever posted on the internet haven't you Dion. Quick, gimme a gif of a duck fighting a polar bear!!

Back on topic...which of the painkillers is it that you're not supposed to take after drinking? I can never remember if it's Tylenol or Advil that beats you up more.

If you'd have read the article.

Don't take aspirin before drinking, unless you love hangovers. Aspirin seriously cuts the effectiveness of your body's AD enzymes. In one 1990 study, the average blood alcohol levels of those who took two maximum strength aspirin tablets before drinking were an average of 26 percent higher than those who were aspirin-free. Other studies have suggested even more impact on your body's ability to break down alcohol. That also means more acetaldehyde in your system down the line, so you'll learn your lesson quickly if you're considering aspirin as a "helper."

I found it kind of informative. For instance, I used to eat a lot of sponge cake before I drank as I thought it would soak up even more alcohol. Turns out I'm wrong, food doesn't soak up booze, but it does allow one to drink more for longer. Knowing this and the aspiren info are more than worth the price of admission.

Here's another interesting article about drinking. It's less hard science and more socio-cultural.

For those that will find it too long to read, it basically says that drinking brings what we're doing into the foreground and everything in the background fades away. The notion helps to explain why social experiences are more fun when everyone is drinking, why solo drinkers tend to become depressed and why frat atmospheres thrive among younger drinkers, to name a few from the link.

Definitely a worthwhile read: Malcolm Gladwell - Drinking Games.
