I got a new PC not too long ago, and have waited to ask this.. don't know why. It has a 200gb HD but it only shows up as 127gb in Bios and in Windows.
Here's what i've done.
-Installed new service packs
-Installed Maxtor's big drive enabler
-Installed newer bios
Anyone experience the same problem with a Maxtor 200gb drive?

There should be a windows update to handle this. When given the option to do express or custom updates, choose custom (if you haven't already done so). When you get to the screen that shows the updates you'll likely find the culprit under "Software, Optional" There is a chance that it is under the high priority updates and you don't have automatic updates enabled, and/or didn't finish checking for updates after installing SP2.

Nope, I think I figured it out though. I need to install a SATA driver from a floppy when installing Windows.

I tried downloading the new version of itunes on my computer, everything was running fine until it got to the quicktime installation. The bar on the program install wizard would finish and then just go back to the start, so i closed the program.
Now i can't access the start menu, or anything on the task bar. When I move the mouse over it it just has that hourglass waiting thing. I'm currently running Windows XP. I'd try a system restore, but don't know how to do it without getting to the start menu. Also, when I click into "my computer", it just has that searching flashlight thing.
when i use Ctl alt del, it says my CPU usage is at 100% even when i'm not running anything. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

And just to add, restarting the computer did nothing to fix this.

This may be a goofy question, but are there any internal controls on the PC that i can access that will allow me to brighten the video feeds i watch on my monitor.
More often than not, the vid's i d/l or access are so dark I can barely see whats on them. Not always mind you, just more than not. I have the monitors external settings cranked as bright as can be, and as i say, sometimes that works just fine.
Just curious if there is anything i can change inside the puter itself to brighten things up?

right click on your desktop -> properties -> settings -> advanced.
Then, depending on your video card, there should be settings for brightness etc.

What program are you using to view the videos?
I know in Windows Media Player there is a Video Settings Option that allows you to control brightness and the like by going to the View menu then Enhancements then Video Settings.

OK>..that is the problem...thanks.
however, it still defaults back to way to dark if i close it and re-open it.
On top of that, if it is a clip like the one KG posted...
http://poststuff4.entensity.net/101705/med...a=deepwater.wmv
where the window opens on its "own page" so to speak, its still almost all black. In that particular clip all i can really make out is the reporters name and some movement....cant see the water etc.

PROBLEM_________________________
I was fudging around on msn, and somehow changed a sound setting, now my speakers echo out all the sound, I've checked and its not my speakers and I've unplugged the microphone so that it is not relaying the sound.
What's my problem?

Alright, this is getting irritating. When I leave my computer for a while, and it goes to screensaver, and then powersave mode on the monitor, I sometimes get this:
WARNING - DISPLAY DRIVER STOPPED RESPONDING
The s3sav4 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality.
It them goes on to talk about sending an error report.
WTF is that all about? Do I need a new graphics card or something?
Forgot to mention it doesn't do this all the time, but more and more lately....

Photon,
By the way, I see that I AM using Microsoft XP for that UBS problem.
Can you re-print your instructions/suggestions.
I also have another UBS port on the front of the machine I never saw before a visiting kid showed it to me.

Hehe..
So I take it there's no difference when using the USB Port on the front?

You have to click on the " 84002w2ks3agplogo.zip" filename and then it should download the file. Depending on if you have IE or Firefox it'll ask you where to download it to (Firefox defaults to the desktop). Then you have to unzip the file.
Once unzipped, find the file called S3SAVG4.INF and right click on it and choose Install.
That should install the drivers, and you'll probably have to reboot and set your resolution after the reboot (sometimes it changes after updating the driver).

I do not have a file named such. The only one I can right click to install does nothing.
As an aside, I really appreciate your help here.
