Excellent point. And there's also no law that says you have to say thanks when somebody holds a door open for you so I'm not going to do that either.

The nice thing about having a car with better acceleration and braking (i drive a supercharged mustang cobra) is that no body can catch up to me if i want to dust them, and i can also brake faster if they decide to be a prick.
Me and my buddies in highschool used to box people in and drive the EXACT speed limit, so much fun.

Tyler, I feel ashamed for you.
Your Daddy bought you a supercharged Mustang Cobra, and he can't afford $3/day for the Park and Ride?
You are an overindulged cockface.

I'm not sure how observing the rules of the road constitutes a discourtesy to others. Nor is it incumbent on myself to enable others to disregard said rules.
To use your analogy, do you hold doors open so a shoplifter can make an unobstructed getaway?

The thing is, it's no skin off your back to stay in the right lane and let people who drive faster use the left lane. You know people are going to speed, and you know there's an unwritten rule that faster drivers get the left lane, so IMO you're just being a jerk to drive like a grandma in the left lane.
And to answer your next question, yes, driving the speed limit in the left lane is grandma-style.

Laugh. Try shaking your fist at the same time for extra-dramatic effect.
Unwritten rules aren't even worth the paper they're not written on.

So what I'm getting here is passive-aggressive is calling out aggressive? Neither is particularly compelling as an argument. You should be driving to get where you're going, not to indulge your sense of moral superiority or your need to assert your dominance.
Drive to maximize both your and other people's safety and convenience. It isn't a difficult concept. Don't block people off, don't drive aggressively, be aware of all other drivers and pedestrians nearby, make smooth changes in velocity and direction, don't be distracted.

This is the way it should be, unfortunately, we have dicks all over the place just meandering and texting, and snoozing, and then telling people to chill out when people say something about it.

Between cell phones and this ignoramus attitude is everything that's wrong on the roads. Your solution to people's ######ed driving habits is to act like a bigger ######? I'm sure that solves a lot. Congratulations. You drive a Mustang. Look around the city in the summer some time. There's a quarter of a million cars on the road that have better acceleration and braking than you. It's Calgary, not some backwoods community. Regardless of the capabilities of the vehichle you drive, if you're intentionally pissing people off that piss you off, you're the biggest threat on the road. It sounds like you and your 'buddies' still are in high school.

Nope. The original poster asked the guy behind him to chill out because he was observing the rules of the road.
Rattling off other traffic transgressions is not really an effective counter argument.

He doesn't have a standard issue Mustang, he has an SC Cobra. It's probably faster than 95% of the cars on the road.

I've gotten the finger & the horn while doing 95 in an 80 along glenmore. Like s*** I'm already doing 15 over the limit, this isn't the highway we're on.

So I read. Given the amount of Ferraris, Lambos, Aston Martins, etc, etc. around here I found it comical that he made sure to point out the car he drives.
My point still stands. The solution to d-bag drivers is not to be a bigger d-bag.
