Default Best free online Poker site??

I'm a huge poker newbie, but am interested to learn how to get better. Just started playing on pokerstars.net tonight, seems pretty easy to get into and play in.

Any other sites out there that you guys would recommend??

Thanks in advance!

Pacific poker has by far the most awful players, so if you want an easy game to start out, you could try playing there. They only have 5 person sit-n-gos, but they have both low and high stakes which is good. Same goes for their cash games. Those are 10 person, but the stakes are high and low, which again is good.

Party Poker has quite a bit of bad players as well, but they only have 10 person tables, both cash games and sit-n-gos. It depends on your preference. I used to only like 5 person, but you get used to both. Also, Party Poker allows you to multi-table, or, play more than one table at once, unlike Pacific where you can only be in one tournament or sit-n-go at a time. Sometimes this is nice being able to multi table because, aside from being able to rake in more cash if you're winning consistently, it can help you stay real focused and concentrated on each game, rather than doing other things like being distracted by the TV, phone, etc.

The only one I ever used was pokerroom.com. It's seemed pretty good but I don't play online very much. Give it a shot and see which one is better, it's free.

I haven't heard of a poker site that wasn't free to join. PokerStars is a good site to start. UltimateBet has good software.

If you are curious of bonuses that poker sites offer, then the best site to check out would be www.bonuswhores.com.

I play (When its for free) at http://scorepoker.com/

I'll tell you why =)

There are i think 100,000+ people that have downloaded it, and you actually play for something. When you play on those big sites like partypoker etc, and your playing for free, people don't play properly. Hell, ive noticed people don't play properly until $5/$10 but thats me.

Anyhoo, download that software, and every Mon-Fri, you can play in the sit'n'go challenges. If you win one of those, you go to the finals (or semis, cant remember) and if you win that, you can win some $$$ ($150 for first i think) and you can also play in the multi tourney and if you place in that, you go to the final and can win a TV, some trips, and other swag.

So basically, if you want to learn to play, play there. You test yourself because you're actually playing towards something and teaches you not to be stupid, but costs nothing =)

And no, i do not work or have anything to do with scorepoker. I just think its a great place to practice/learn.

Check out the sched here:

http://www.scorepoker.com/tournaments/index.asp

Gives server list too.

Jayems.

All free sites are the same. They're all worthless. I guess they're ok if you're just looking for a little entertainment. But if you've played on one free site you've played them all.

If you want to play real money and you live in North America and you're over 21, give me a pm and I can set you up with $100 free at party poker without depositing a dime. No credit card or anything. This goes for anybody reading this. You can't have played at party previously, though. And no it's not a scam.

But that just doesn't make sense.

The way this promotion works out, EVERYONE is happy. It's great that way. Party Poker pays their affilate $150 or whatever for each person they get to sign up and play. I get ten bucks for referring that same person. And that person get $100 free to play online poker with. The affiliate gets the 50 extra bucks. And party poker gets that person's rake and often A LOT of future play. Everybody wins.

Seems like it might behoove a lot of people to learn what a "rakeback" program is.
