Just got home and gave the roster update a look over.

Man... they did not do crap all in this much time. All thats there is roster moves, not even accurate ones, no player updates or anything. That could be done with one guy in a day.

-Giordano is one of the flames worst D still, no potential to makeup.
-Brodie is at a 70, and has a potential of C- (he will do worse with age, same rating as staois)
-Glencross is slow, not like hes the fastest skater on the team ...
-Got B Sutter player the 4th line instead of meyer
-Bryan Cameron is gone too
The simple job to be done wasnt even done right.

Jobo, is EA taking applications? cause i can do jack all from out here for a paycheck too

This morning their Twitter feed said that the roster update will be live 2am "this morning". I checked the feed at 9am and that message was posted "9 minutes ago" so I assume it means Wednesday morning. Have they already released it?

I don't know why this is necessary, but it seems 1000s of people are stuck like you.

The roster updates don't go into the roster updates section. Make sense?

You need to go 'play a quick game online', wait for it to confirm newest roster, then save that roster. I learned this trick in one of the previous titles and it always gets people

I don't even know how to feel. Part of me just laughs at their continued ineptitude, and the other half rages at the fact that I wasted $73.49 on a glorified coaster.

I haven't been able to get to the console, but from what I understand the roster update is pretty messed. I guess that some teams have solid black goaltender equipment. And surprise surprise, the rosters are inaccurate.

Worst NHL iteration since 2003. If 2K puts out a game in 2011 (I understand they are and have taken an extra year to make it better) it will at the very least split the customer base 50/50. I know that I will not be buying NHL 12 at release, and will be renting both games. I liked the features of 2K, and it's depth...hopefully they can match that with awesome gameplay.

EA shat the bed, and hopefully it costs them. It's not like I couldn't research this game before buying it, and that is my mistake. But it's not like they charged any less than some other mainstream games, so I expect the same kind of support and effort.

I've had NHL 11 for about 2 weeks and have turned back to NHL 09. I never bought NHL10, but if it's anything like this game I'm glad.

So slow, hard to make passes. Feels like I'm playing in slow motion.

I really have enjoyed NHL 11 so far, and I can understand a roster update is a difficult thing to make.

What do you think would be hard exactly?

We are almost given the tools to do it on our own consoles (some complications with age restriction for CHL style leagues).

They would be doing it in a much more efficient way than the console, and it would still take less than a day.

Maybe if they reviewed players and adjusted them with scouts (like making the hardest shooter on each team actually be the hardest shooter, fsatest skater be the fastest, etc.) then this much time is a TINY bit more reasonable, but they didn't do anything even close to that.

I don't really understand these kinds of complaints. If the game is too slow, turn the game speed up. If it's hard to make passes, turn pass speed and/or pass accuracy up. Nobody is forcing you to use the default game settings. Change the tuners in such a way that the game is more enjoyable for you to play.

Hoenstly I haven't read this thread so I don't know what kind of complaints there are, but wouldn't be surprised if there was complaints about the speed.

I play online and really don't think you can play with the settngs online?

Just a bad game IMO and another thing is that it's like impossible to hit someone..they just bounce right off.

Fair enough. I believe you are stuck with default settings if you play online.

I only play with my friends offline, so we have custom settings that we always use. Max game speed, max pass speed, max hitting power. Makes it a lot more "arcadey", which for us makes it a lot more fun.

Speed is never going to be a realistic rating in sports games. The reason for that is the most important thing for hockey players in real life is hockey sense, and because this is impossible to put in a rating everything else has to be bumped up (or bumped down for non-elite players) for the best players to be the best players.

For some unexplained reason, you have to go into an online game session to get the new roster update.

So isn't it just an online roster? Not a full update?

You can save the roster by manually saving them to your offline roster file. You'll just have to make sure your online roster is active when doing so.

Thanks for the info.

Boo to EA for not making an actual roster update.

Me and my buddy looked for the option to change the game speed.... Couldn't find it... Where's this option? Probably make the game alot better...

It would be in gameplay slider settings.

Obviously. That is like telling me I can conserve water by not flushing after I pee.

Meaning that those of us who only play offline and thus do not have an gold account are screwed correct?

You know what, to hell with this game. I'm done. I almost want to go on a cry fest similar to some of the people bitching about their Heritage Classic seats.
