LOL! From Bill Simmons' twitter:

Note to Pats: Sign Moss just so "Pats trade Randy Moss to Minnesota for a 3rd round pick and Randy Moss" can run on ESPN's ticker.

the "mad man" in the sweatsuit you speak of has actually made a bunch of great personnel moves the last few years

as has every team in the league

his biggest one being drafting a QB 1st overall who was terrible, but when that QB was called by most scouts as a "sure thing" I really don't blame him too much for that one

Sorry twitterverse, I twittered earlier &it didn't take. Yeah, chilly told players in team mtg moss wasn't type of guy they wanted there
Jay_Glazer

Players looked around to see if moss was there. Chilly then took em rt into film like it was no biggie. Guys just shook their heads

Jay_Glazer

Players liked Moss but guys were saying this season, nothing chilly does surprises them.

If this is true, I don't know how he doesn't get canned. I wouldn't want to play for Childress if he acts like a lunatic.

Do oyu always take everything this seriously? It was obviously tongue in cheek to begin with.

Chili makes me feel so much better about Tom Cable. I thought he should have been fired his second year with the Vikings. I can't believe he's gone this far. He and Phillips are examples of when you surround a bad coach with great talent. Some good and alot of bad.

No no no...God...please just no.

The Rams are doing fine and better than anyone expected. That signing is like a suicide for Bradford's development.

Just...no.

Don't be so hard on yourself and your team. The laughing stock is obviously the Dallas Cowboys.

10 teams reportedly interested in Moss (ESPN):

Various league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, St. Louis Rams, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and even the Patriots are among the teams possibly interested in claiming Moss.

The Jets could claim him if only for the knowledge of the Pats offence $4.5 million is a small amount of $ if he can help them win the division.

Being a Pats fan, I hope he makes it through waivers and re-signs with the Pats for a reasonable contract. With Branch back (and a re-structured contract) they would have a pretty deadly combo of Moss, Branch, Welker Tate and Gonzalas.

Plus with his post game interview, you gotta think he'll end up there in the off season anyway

Why would Dallas waste 4 million on Moss to be their 3rd/4th WR at 1-6?

Oh Wait it's Dallas, nm!

I think Miami and the Jets would be more about stopping him from going to NE

either way Schefter is really going out on a limb predicting half the league is interested

Vikings could opt to waive him later, as Chilly told the team he would, but I'm told others in management not sold on cutting Moss
JasonLaCanfora

Spoke to someone who perused Monday's waiver wire three times - Randy Moss is NOT on it. Was not waived by 4pm deadline

To say the least, my phone is burnin up from vikings who are incredibly frustrated by this move
JasonLaCanfora

Gonna state the obvious here, but this looks awful for the Vikings, and Chilly in particular. What a mess.

I seriously hope all this bad press gives me my wish!!!

From the drama in Minnesota to the drama in DC. Shanahan is losing his mind.

Quote:
ASHBURN, Va. -- Mike Shanahan has a new explanation for benching Donovan McNabb. The Washington Redskins coach says the quarterback wasn't in good enough shape to run a two-minute offense with no timeouts.

Shanahan on Monday said McNabb has been struggling with hamstring injuries for five weeks and didn't have the "cardiovascular endurance" to stay on the field with the game on the line against Detroit. Shanahan said he even considered not playing McNabb at all against the Lions.

I can't see KC being interested in Moss. Cassel / Moss didn't work so well in NE, why would it be any different in KC? Maybe Schefter is just assuming that Pioli will want Moss because he is a former Patriot. Pioli has kicked that habit.

I quit following Schefter. He went from being a reliable NFL insider to somebody who thinks he's a rock star.
