Default keyboard help... computer is malfunctioning!

Ok, I have a logitech LX710 keyboard that isinserting 4 spaces everytimeIpressspacebar,or none asobviousbythispost. Itseemsallother keys work properly, but I did notice that crazy french E in place of my question mark last week....

(4 spaces is probably smart fixed by the forum software).

I bought a microsoft wireless keyboard 3000v2.0 to diagnose my problem, but it doesn't work at all.

HELP

Did you spill anything on your keyboard recently?

Sounds like a symptom of the mylar trace sheets inside the keyboard having bridged contacts from past exposure or moisture.

the E with the diacritic mark means your keyboard has been toggled to French.

Hit Ctrl-Shift and it should toggle it back. To prevent this permanently, go to your control panel, select Region and Language, then the Language and Keyboards tab. Remove French from the options listed there.

Do this, and then reboot. See if the other problem still exists. I doubt this will solve the spacebar issue, but easier to remove one problem from the mix before solving the other.

On Windows 7 - Control Panel > Region and Location as well.

Normally holding down the left side ctrl+shift changes it.

Ok so I went to get a wired keyboard at bestbuy and walked out with a new laptop...

So this still doesn't solve my issue that the second wireless keyboard didn't work at all- is it possible that two keyboards of diferent manufacturers are interfereing with each other?

I will still figure it out. Thanks for the tips.

I got this one. I am also posting this message from the microsoft keyboard on my desktop (so why did I get a laptop after all LOL- probably the easier access to pron), as it required a battery reset to get it to work after I installed the software. (I also unplugged the wireless transmitter of the logitech devices in case that had anything to do with it).

Oh be serious, you liked me anyway.

Although that'd be a strange thing to be known for around here- guy whose spacebar doesn't work, making all his posts look like he's typing drunk.

This is why I avoid electronics stores, I go to buy a cable and walk out with a 52" TV and Home Theatre system.
