How is it No. 4 was able to do his running and jumping crazy-man celebration thing after he thought he threw that game-winning touchdown pass to Percy Harvin in the final seconds, but then he could barely walk up the tunnel moments later?

I don't know...when your adrenaline gets going..sometimes the pain subsides. Or at least, you don't notice it as much.

Yeah, I've played through some pretty damn painful injuries and didn't notice a thing during the game. As soon as the game ended and the adrenaline stopped pumping it was the total opposite, the pain became the only thing I could feel.

I don't think anybody actually thinks he's faking it. I just find it funny that you feel the need to run out and defend Favre from every little dig he takes on this board, whether it's serious or tongue-in-cheek.

Uh oh, you DO NOT call out Transplant, you just simlpy DO NOT! He's very scary when he gets defensive. This is going to get very ugly. I would just ask the mods to ban you at this point, there's no turning back.
Jesus, he's probably typing out a rough draft of his rebuttle as we speak. He will destroy you. Mark my words.
Also, his rebuttle will contain the phrase "Wow, just wow".

Favre has jumped the shark. Play up your injuries for what the media thinks they are, long story short I really look forward to his ridiculous start record being broken because he's sending pics of his tiny hog to random cheerleaders. Enjoy your forthcoming suspension. A fitting end for Mr. Media. He's no Cal Ripken, that's for sure. Soak it up media whore, soak it up.

It seems everyone is laughing at Favre....or at least his penis.
http://gothamist.com/2010/10/27/ster...he_laughed.php
Beyond the laughter, the more important issue is that if Torres is found to be telling the truth, then Favre is in trouble as he lied to investigators about not sending the pictures and will recieve a multi game suspension. One way or another they just need to do something because this is dragging out too long.....unlike..........
oh nevermind.

"So yeah, maybe Brett Favre threw something out there he'd like back. Funny, doesn't sound like him."
"Hey did you see that sack on Favre? No, not that one!"

Was just watching ESPN......I didn't realize that OAKLAND has the highest payroll in the NFL at 152.3 M! That is insane.....OAKLAND????
1. Oakland: 152.3 M
2. Dallas: 146.4 M
3. Minnesota: 133.4 M
4. Cleveland: 131.9 M
5. New Orleans: 131.5 M
And then look at the bottom 5 (quite impressive)
28. Green Bay - 94 M
29. Indianapolis - 93.4 M
30. New England - 92.7 M
31. Baltimore - 90.7 M
32. Kansas City - 83.6 M
You'd think at first glance that they should be flipped for the most part.

Not really surprising considering all the high draft picks Oakland has had to throw stupid amounts of money at who then proved to be total busts.

Yup and I haven't checked but the Raiders are probably paying for a bunch of guys that no longer play for them.

I can think of one fat cough syrup swilling QB who isn't there anymore but is definitely contributing to that payroll.

I don't think Russell is on the payroll anymore. By cutting him this season the Raiders only owed $3M at the start of the season rather than an additional $6M throughout the season.
Gallery, Huff, McFadden, Heyward-Bey, McClain and Asomough are all high 1st round selections that signed massive contracts. Asomough is also the highest paid corner in the league. Lechler and Janikowski are the highest paid punter and kicker in the league. Plus they used their franchise tag on Seymour (DT) which is one of the most expensive positions on the field.
Part of the reason the Raiders traded a first for Moss in 2005 and their 2011 for Seymour is Davis doesn't have enough cash to pay top 10 picks for 10 years in a row. Obviously the other option available to the Raiders to avoid high draft contracts is winning, but...

Wouldn't some of his bonus money etc. be spread out across multiple years? Or am I completely off base?
Either way, he's fat and gets wasted on cough medicine. Good enough for me.

I don't think so. From everything I read, before the season, the Raiders had paid him something like $36M. He was guaranteed $3M more whether he made the roster or not. If he was cut before the season, the Raiders saved $6M this year and whatever was left owing for the rest of the contract.
You could be right, but I think all the guaranteed money has already been paid out to Russell. The NFL's salary rules are not one of my strong suits.

Yes...they saved money on him and owe him nothing more, but his cap hit was still there...though because this is an uncapped season, it matters not at all.

The only truly guaranteed money in the NFL are signing bonuses. There are different roster bonuses and so on that trigger at different times, but they can be avoided if the player is cut before they come due. But depending upon when the cut happens, that can screw up the cap hit since all bonuses previously paid need to be accounted for.
As tranny said, the cap is probably still there but the payroll hit shouldn't be (unless he was on the roster long enough to trigger a bonus)
