Anyone else check this out?
Essentially a ~35 minute music video.
The acting is a little mediocre imo, but the cinematics, design, and of course music are pretty sick.
I know there are a lot of judgmental people on this site that won't like any just because it's Kanye, and what he has done outside of music in the past, but what is everyone's favourite song?

Kanye has some of the most embarrassing lyrics known to man.
Admittedly, I'm a huge fan of Kanye, but I feel like you can say this about a lot of rappers. Even when I listen to classic hip hop like the Black Star album (Mos Def and Talib Kweli) there are some lines that just make me cringe. On that album, as well as on a lot of Kanye's tracks, the good moments make up for the weaker ones. I do feel like Kanye's lyrics have taken a huge step back from what he had going on his first 2 albums.
The verses in that song are some of his best, IMO.
For me, I listen to Kanye mostly because his producing is SICK. The lyrics, for the most part, don't get in the way of that.
Looking forward to watching Runaway when I get a chance.
Kanye fell after Late Registration and Collage Dropout..he should get back to his old roots or stick to producing, he's o.k. now but nowear near where he was a few years ago...please bring back 90's/early 2000's hip hop

Aside from what Kanye says on the spur of the moment, you're right. However, to say his lyrics and samples suck is simply ignorance. I'm not looking for an argument or anything, but his acclaim is mainly from his sample and lyrics...his rapping is where he's suspect. Personally, I think most of his stuff he's released before this album drops is garbage, but we'll wait until the album is out before I call this his worst. He always has pulled out some great stuff in the past and there's reason to believe he'll do so on this album.
However, to say his lyrics suck is simply ignorance..

If you pick on one or two sets like that, of course! I'm not going to bother doing research on lyrics, but he had some great one liners and he's among the best at creative lyrics IMO.
Just going from memory, but here's a reall good one:
I had a dream that I could buy my way to heaven,

And I stick to what I said about his samples. Samples are meant to be used to create something new. Half the time, his samples are indistinguishable from where they were orginally taken from. If you liked Stronger, then you might as well just listen to Daft Punk. At least you can appreciate the fact that you aren't listening to a cocky hack.
