I don't think UofC had any frats when I was there, and was surprised when I moved to Van and found out UBC had lots of them and they were very common.
I guess it's only logical that D-bag Can####s fans were also D-bag frat boys.

my experience was that most fratboys were the type of person who would join a cult - needing to find identity by being a member of a group, disdainful of anyone who wasn't a fellow fratboy, etc. Living side-by-side made for a real "us vs.them" mentality.

Frats always seemed like the biggest homoerotic thing going....I mean I like my friends, but i don't want to live and hang out with them 24/7, playing pranks on each other that inevitably end up with someone's balls in your mouth.

U of Idaho had a huge fraternity population. Some of them were bags, some of them were nice. What was great about them was it removed "the cool kids" from the general population as they just partied in their house all the time. Instead of having Delta Chis dispersed among the general population, they were all in the same house, and anyone who wasn't a bag could avoid them with wonderful ease.

On a more serious side, some of the abuse of women that goes on in some of the fraternities is disgusting and a huge problem. Some frats have a system for how to get girls alone in compromising circumstances. It's pretty creepy really. Beyond that, lots of roofie stories and a couple of actual rape convictions during my time there.

While true, I do not doubt for a second that John Belushi could have actually done that. The man was a monster.

UofC has(had) 3 frats. My friends and I pledged for one and most of the guys were really cool, but a couple were real dbags that really put us off joining.
