Sarah Silverman is a dirty dirty girl, she's been bad.

I'll be in my bunk.

I loved the first ghostbusters, mainly because the cast really played off of each other, the special effects weren't special, but the writing was solid and Bill Murray and Harold Ramis really carried the comedy. The second one wasn't great because the script was terrible.

If we're going to do a third one, lets wrap it up for good. Lets not pass it onto young hip actors because their young hip actors.

Non of those guys could carry Bill Murray's comedy jock strap. Non of those guys could replace Harold Ramis dry sense of humor.

Stop the rebooting, write your own stories and be creative (Except for you Chris Nolan, you can stay). Stop trying to recast roles. Quit raping the classic movies so that you can squeeze an extra few minutes.

Because the next thing you know, McG will get his hands on the ghost busters franchise and Slimer will be running around with a proton accelerator on his back.
I am completely torn about this post and your ideas. I really want to see Ghostbusters back on the big screen, but at what expense does it come with?

Do you do it with the old cast 1 more time then migrate the story to them hiring their replacements? Do you just start it off with new people - it won't have to be big name stars necessarily, but people who could pull off the script the way it was intended.

Don't forget, the story, whatever it may be, will be written by Harold Ramis and Dan, so in theory, the spirit of the originals will be there.

Does Hollywood ize another part of my childhood? or do they re-establish Ghostbusters to the legendary status it is meant to be in?

The only way that I would want it to end then, is that all of the original ghostbusters are killed horribly, pop out of their bodies as ghosts and then are trapped in the containment horribly and forever by their replacements, then after the credits roll, the ghostbusters hall explodes horribly killing their replacements, and since their replacements have no soul the series ends there.

Here's who I'd like to see as replacements:

Venkman - Ryan Reynolds. If they want to go younger, there's no body funnier right now than Reynolds. He's got that cocky persona that made Venkman so loveable.

Stantz - I'll probably get slammed on this one, but what about the kid from Two And A Half Men, Angus T. Jones. He holds his own between Sheen and Cryer on the show, and could play a half decient straight man/nerd that Ray always was. Might be a bit too young, but I think he'd fit the role perfectly.

Spengler - Here's where you inject your femininity. Emma Stone as a sexy bookworm would be awesome. Plus, she could be a mix of Egon and Janine, which was hinted at in the first movie, regardless on what happened in the second between her and Louis. If not a female, the kid who played 'Kick-Ass' would do well here as well.

Zeddmore - If you have to go black here, why not a Tracy Morgan. Yeah, I get that I've been going younger, but with the dynamic, he would steal a scene or two along the way. To be completely honost, I'm drawing a blank when thinking of younger Black commedians in Hollywood. I just see Morgan running around with these younger actors, and it's funny in my head already.

If they're going to do this, I'd like to see an All-Star of young Hollywood jump in, as the cast of the originals was pretty damn good. You don't need these guys to play sons and daughters of the originals, but they need to be associated somehow.

Make Reynolds be Venkman's assistant, or TA. Make Angus be Ray's kid... I could see that working. Stone could be a student of Spengler's. Who knows. But the story of how these guys come together can be the basis, and the ghosts be secondary. There was minimal back story with the original... there should be more here.

Stanz - Jason Segel - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0781981/l

Zeddmore - Morgan, while funny, would destroy the ghostbuster chemistry. What about Jaime Fox? He has proven that he can deliver lines subtly unlike Morgan. Whould be a much better Ernie Hudson type.

Ghostbusters was written by Greg Bole.

Ghostbusters 2 written by Aykroid and Ramis, which sucked, should not write any script related to ghost busting.

From wiki:

Quote:
Ghostbusters, titled on-screen as Ghost Busters, is a 1984 American comedy film written by co-stars Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis about three eccentric New York City parapsychologists-turned-ghost exterminators. The film was released in the United States on June 8, 1984 and like several films of the era, teamed Aykroyd and/or Ramis with Bill Murray. It was produced and directed by Ivan Reitman, who also directed Stripes, and stars Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis, Rick Moranis, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, and Ernie Hudson. The film made US$291,632,124 in the United States alone[2], the equivalent of $538,260,000 in 2010 prices, ranking the film as the 32nd biggest grossing in U.S. box office history after adjustment for inflation.[3]

IMDB has Aykroyd, Ramis and Rick Moranis (uncredited) as writers.

I found a writing link with Greg Bole attached to ghostbusters. And I can't read. And I can't apparently use IMDB... Greg Bole does the plot outlines ha ha ha.

Ghostbusters 2 did not suck!

It was not as good as the first one, but that's kidna a hard movie to live up to. It still had some amazingly funny moments

"I don't have clean or dirty, I have many subtle levels of laundry"

Venkman when being asked to put Oscar down (to sleep) "..your chubby, you stink, and you're a burden on your poor mother"

"You don't... you don't sleep with the ooz do you?" "..it's always the quite ones"

And this scene is but gustingly funny.

I see your scene and raise you Bobby Brown, a beaten Whitney Huston, the soundtrack, and this scene:
link to baddness

Let's animate the statue of liberty... When your movie ends on this ridiculous premise it is awful.

Yes the jokes were well delivered thanks to comic talent but this is a forgettable movie because you end up leaving the theater cheated because of the stupid denouement.

No. The worst part of that is still Sarah Silverman. Her only saving grace is the fact that she didnt open her goddamn mouth and actually say anything.

Why does she even get invited to these things? Has she done anything relevant over the last 2 years?

We don't really need a Ghostbusters 3. We already have the first one, that's all we really need.
