NASH GETS A NEW HOME
Philadelphia - Gm Joe Schum finally succeeded in his attempt to get a scorer for slick playmaker Marc Savard. In comes Rick Nash and his 83 shooters rating. That is not the only thing Nash does well, defensively responsible and can pass the puck himself.
"Anytime you can add a top line franchise talent and not give up any of you top liners on the roster, you just have to do it. I've hung onto Wilson, Fowler, Bernier for awhile now but this move sees them go where they'll get a better opportunity to play sooner. Also Provides Savvy with a shooter we'd been looking for awhile, now we just have to see if it works." Said Schum
The deal breaks down like this:
To Columbus: Cam Fowler, Colin Wilson, Jonathon Bernier, Tuomo Ruutu, Phi 2012 4th round pick
To Philadelphia: Rick Nash, Dallas 2012 1st, Sami Lepisto, 3.1 million
Last couple of days, Flyers traded elite prospects in Evander Kane, Jonathon Bernier, Colin Wilson, Cam Fowler. But in order to win you have to sacrifice the un-rated talent and that is exactly what this is about.
The Flyers will now cool down on the trading front and see how the new guys perform.
