Not to mention, if he does this his life will be hell. The fans will HATE him. Its like jumping from Barca to Real or Liverpool to Everton. Or, as we've seen recently from Red Star to Partizan where the fans broke into his home!
Judas says "Hello."

That being said though, for Rooney to go from United to City would be more along the lines of when Figo jumped from Real to Barca, it would be that epic.
Neither of these other two can compare. Excellent defenders, certainly, but we're talking some of the biggest names in the world game.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I can't believe that Rooney is going to hesitate to move for fear of incurring the wrath of Manchester United's fans or something, he was a childhood Everton guy, totally developed and blooded by them for 10 years and then turned his back on them as soon as he saw greener pastures without hesitation.
I actually think that City is going to be a significantly better side than United for a few years to come if the ownerships stay the same. It doesn't happen overnight but United has been trending downwards and City has been strengthening in every transfer window.
Man U isn't able to compete with City on the open market for superstars and the youth academies can't even be compared in the last 5 years City has been in a different league. Only a matter of time if things keep going the way they have, I think only Ferguson has kept the tide from turning earlier.
Rooney was smart today in placing a lot of the blame on the ownership, if he was smart he would start wearing green and gold in public until he gets transferred
and Judas was the worst, he left on a free when he strung along ownership, he had offers from every big club in England, Real Madrid, and Milan
Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson: "I haven't read Wayne Rooney's statement, but we'll have a view on it tomorrow and probably put it to bed tomorrow. As I said, the door is open. We keep good players, particularly when they are that young. He wants assurances? Have I won 30 trophies or what?!"

He won trophies there no? Isn't that what it is all about for these guys? There is no loyalty left in sport.

it is rare, but Judas pretended to have it, which made it worse
and then for the last 5 or 6 years he has said constantly in the media that he doesn't think he did anything wrong and he doesn't know why Spurs fans hate him
It all depends on the player, for example
I didn't have a problem when Berbatov left Spurs, he is a mercenary and I enjoyed watching him while he was there and I still do while he is at United, I didn't like the way he sulked but he wanted to further his career and at the time it was the move to make he never pledged his future to Spurs or anything like that. Judas did
Sounds like Rooney's last day at the club is tomorrow unless he does a complete 180. Even still, his statement insults his team mates first and foremost, his manager, the executives, and finally the owners (deserved). I can't see him being welcomed back after what he's said about his team mates, especially a few of the lifers. I bet Paul Scholes doesn't feel so bad about injuring him yesterday now.

£260K/wk???
Why not just round it up to £300K?
For what? What makes him worth that? 2 or 3 goals in almost 8 months?

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Perth Glory striker Robbie Fowler claims that he has spoken to Wayne Rooney about the possibility of making a shock move to join him in the A-League, and reckons the wantaway Manchester United star is "very, very interested" in the prospect of playing in Australia.
"It's probably only just come out lately about Wayne Rooney (wanting to leave) but being in the football know, I found out a couple of weeks ago," Fowler said in the radio interview broadcast on Perth Glory's official website.
"So I just had to go home and see whether he would be interested in coming to Perth. And the signs were good. Really pleased with the chat we had and we'll see where it takes us.
"He's very, very interested. I told him what a lovely place it is. I told him everything about the city. So he's umming and ahhing at the minute, but it's looking good."
Ian Holloway goes off on the situation. Good for a laugh and he's pretty bang on, other than the house comparison.

And now the idiots who take sports more seriously than their owns lives are at it.
While Rooney was pondering the fall-out from several hours of high-level talks at Old Trafford, a 40-strong group of United supporters, many wearing balaclavas and hooded tops, had travelled to his home town of Wilmslow in Cheshire to warn him off any move to Manchester City. Witnesses reported a gathering outside his house, with a banner reading "If you join City you're dead".

Ah, thanks for that. I forgot all about all those weird little quirks that those socialists have imposed upon the freedom of contract.
Huh? Socialism is when you have a draft and force a player to sign with a certain team. We don't have that in soccer. All players are free agents and are free to go wherever they want.
The rules are in place to prevent African players from being exploited into signing twenty year contracts at age twelve. Good on Rooney, I totally agree with his position. He's entitled to buy out his contract and I hope he does. I wish we had this option in hockey, you wouldn't end up with wasters like Wade Redden in the league. Every player should be a free agent at the end of every season.

How is Rooney's situation in any way socialist or the result of socialist policies? If anything it's exactly the opposite. Socialism would be forced to enter a draft at age seventeen and only being allowed to play for the team that picks you, like they do in so-called capitalist leagues like the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB etc.
