A few upsets...the Preds beating the Flyers isn't going to make Da_Chief very happy!

Pretty good effort against the Wild. Solid on the PK but my bottom line and bottom pairing killed me in this game.

Time to blow up the team.

Not happy with this result, stupid Kings have destroyed us every game (preseason and regular season) this year!

Not a great start to the season with a 5-2 loss to the Nucks. Worst of all we let them get 2 goals from their fourth line. Hopefully getting rid of Skoula didn't mess up the sim chemistry I had going.

wow...Marty poops the bed in his first game...and scoring is still an issue.

Shawn Horcoff gets physical...

Shawn Horcoff beats up Jim Vandermeer at 8:00 of 1st period
Shawn Horcoff and Scott Hartnell fight to a draw at 18:11 of 2nd period
Shawn Horcoff ejected from game at 18:11 of 2nd period

Farm team does well in its first start shootin a Moose.

4-2 Falcons.

How about them Norfolk Admirals?

Unknown player with 8 goals and 22 points... what a monster!

Out shot the Caps 42-22. Kovalchuk with 12 shots on goal. His shooting percentage is going to be horrible.

The Canucks depth makes the difference in the season opener with goals from LaRose, Korpikokski et al. An unexpected way to start the year. However, no complaints here.

Nice to get a win in the first game. But just like in the pre-season the goal scoring wasn't impressive - but the D and tending was. Weird.

Steve Stamkos scores his first CPHL goal. Sam Gagner also with a strong game - the GWG and a team leading S.O.G.

The youngsters leading the way!

1st win come a price - Kronwall goes down for a month with a severed wrist tendon. 1 of my only 2 good D-men. The sim is just mean!

Nice, Rinne with the shut out in his Blues debut. Avery pots 2 goals. Aucoin, Drury and Versteeg also chip in with 2 points each.

Game Notes

Shawn Horcoff beats up Jim Vandermeer at 8:00 of 1st period
Shawn Horcoff and Scott Hartnell fight to a draw at 18:11 of 2nd period
Shawn Horcoff ejected from game at 18:11 of 2nd period
Jaroslav Spacek and Mark Fraser fight to a draw at 17:33 of 3rd period
Mark Fraser ejected from game at 17:33 of 3rd period
Mark Fraser from St. Louis Blues is suspended for 1 game(s)

Quite the dislike between the Blues and Oil.

Good to see the Jackets couldn't field a farm team against the Rivermen

Despite the loss, there were a couple positives. Burrows had a hat trick and that line looks like it will stay together (Burrows-Dubinsky-Knuble).

Offense was better than it was for most of the preseason, but still allowing too many damn shots.

Also, we won 1 million of cap space for next year with Burrows scoring the first goal of the year.

I can't for the life of me figure out why this team blows so many leads. Started last year in the playoffs and its still going on. Get a quick 3-0 start and than blow the game in the shootout.

Will have to look at the strategy with the lead.

Onto the home opener where King Henrik makes his return to Philly.

Habs still suck.

Lets start the playoffs today!!! Nashville storms back from a 3-0 deficit to win in a shootout. Great way to start the season.

Yeesh our PP lets us down here, as we blow a 2-0 lead and lose 4-2. Go 1/7 on the PP and allow a shorty. The duo of Steen and Bailey remain impressive, everyone else weak. Green with an assist, but goes -2 and gets beat up in the dying seconds.

I'm in the same boat, I lost Schultz for 2 months with a lower body injury. Thanks Ravi for dressing all your goons! Hopefully nothing else happens in the next 2 months but I'm not holding my breath.

I was concerned with Tampa's first game of the season and just glanced at the schedule. I completely neglected the farm. My apologies on B astar dizing the sim stats.
