Playing in the overrated SEC isn't an impressive schedule.
They played a good Texas team at the end which was a very impressive win but the other teams they played weren't impressive at all. Just because teams are pumped up artificially by the media to start the season doesn't mean they actually are any good.

You don't have to be the best team all year at all in College Football so long as you have an easy as pie schedule and get lucky on the few games that might be tough.
You don't have to play well in every game because unlike the NFL you aren't playing teams that are good enough to beat you every week.
|
woooah easy as pie sched?
really you brought that up?
Just an FYI bama just got done playing top 10 arky on the road. top 10 Florida at home and top 19 USCe on the road after the cocks had a bye week. That is just plain brutal 3 weeks in a row. Not to mention they still have LSU in Death Valley and Auburn at home....
Lets see BSU or TCU, or OSU, Oregon, whoever. That is tough no matter how you slice it. But I'm sure Bama would be beating the tar out of everyone on BSU schedule too.

Put down the crack pipe...
How many years in a row has the SEC won the national title?

#2 ranked schedule based on the overranking of teams like Florida and LSU from last season.

Good for them.
They have done a good job of making sure that there teams get artificially high rankings so that at the end of the year their teams look good.
The SEC certainly has some great teams over the years but overall the conference is not nearly as strong top to bottom as made out to be.
Winning the NC shows that they can produce one good team it doesn't say much about the other crappy teams in the conference that season.

all your credibility went down the tubes already so you're surely will grasp at anything to make a point wont you?
They base the SOS on who you play and their final records.... So try again...

You mean like Boise is doing this year? Vatech or Oregon state? or how about bumping Nevada up the ladder to make BSU sched. look less pathetic?
answers... Like how the media anointed BSU to the national title game after beating VT. Then the next week VT loses to a 1aa team forcing the media to bump Oregon State up who already lost TCU earlier in the season to make the schedule look good.

Grasp at anything?
I am saying the same thing I have all along that the final records of teams in the SEC are not impressive. They get fluffed up by playing directional schools and 1aa teams. They rarely, if ever, leave the South and then live off a BS reputation that they have to do that because the SEC schedule is so tough.

I am not a USC fan so why would I be mad about that.
I like them more than other teams but not enough that I care if they are in bowl games or not.

He's just mad because he's Moon, all he ever does is make ridiculous arguments that have absoutely no basis in reality. This is par for the course.
I'm all for SEC bashing, I hate the arrogance that spews out of there, but I won't pretend for a second that those teams don't play very hard schedules once conference play starts. If you can go undefeated in the SEC you're a very good football team.

No real team that I overly support but I have always liked Washington St. since they are close and easy to follow.
Also want to see Boise St. do well.
But I don't have a strong allegiance to a team like I would with the Flames.

There's the reason why you want a playoff system. For casual fans with no real allegiances the whole college football ranking system doesn't really make a ton of sense. People who are huge fans of one team typically want the system to stay in place (as do the players) as they realize that you don't have win the whole thing to have a successful season.
Take last years Oregon team as an example. I was excited beyond belief that they were playing in the Rose Bowl and was heartbroken when they lost, even though it wasn't for a NC and at the end of the day doesn't meant squat.

It's hilarious that you talk about strength of schedule and cheer for Boise.
Oh the comedy!

hmmm
Lets see here.
Florida played:
Miami (oh)
University of South Florida (were they not ranked #2 just a couple of years ago?)
UT
UK
Bama
LSU
Miss State
UGA
Vandy
USCe (the real usc)
APPY state
FSU
yeah I see one d1aa team...
Look at Bama
SJS
Penn State
Duke
Arky
Florida
USCe (the real usc)
Ole Miss
UT
LSU
Miss State
UGA state
auburn....
Now I see one d1aa school on that sched....
Also Bama played VT in the GA dome last year and Clemson there the year before that.
They agreed to play I believe Michigan at Dallas in a couple of years.
But no schools schedule cupcakes at all huh?
95% of BSU sched is a cupcake that is why they had to schedule VT and Oregon state or Oregon the last two years.

I don't do the "team sec" crap. I hate that with a passion.
