Didn't think it was that bad of a call, Burris just doesn't know where he's throwing.

There would of been little to no time left if we had ran it and kicked it.
Theres no way we would of given up a safety there either, quick hand off or QB sneak.

That was easily the worst half of football the Stampeders, Offence and Defence, have played all season.
Calvillo is on pace for about 600 yards passing.
|
I thought the defense played fine. They held the Als to 6 points most of that first half but when the offense turns the ball over and the defense is constantly on a short field, there's nothing they can do.
The Als have had only 2 good drives.

Fixed, tons of dumb decisions by the coaching staff.

Wow, I don't understand that Calgary last play for INT. Isn't it easier to run the ball and hoping they will get the first down. Even if they don't get it, I would have rather see them give up a safety (2 points). Montreal would have run out of time if the Stamps gave up a safety anyways. Instead Burris threw the ball for INT and Als ended up getting 7 points. I never played professional football but even I can figure out that giving up safety is much better. It would be different if there are lots of time left on the half but 30 seconds left?
Burris and the offensive coaching staff definitely made a huge mistake on that 1st half.

No but I don't know how you or I would perform in the game either but that doesn't mean that we should be the QB.
What I do know is that Tate has shown 0 ability to make throws against CFl defenses.
He comes in late in the game when the defenses don't care or are in prevent and still misses wide open players. He makes bad passes and relies too much on his running ability.
I don't know how he would do in this game but I do know he isn't good enough to beat the Als and that he doesn't come close to giving the Stamps a better chance to win than Henry.

Hmmmm if we ran it and kicked it, the Als would be in FG range already with a few seconds left. I agree with you because I'm super conservative but I don't think throwing the ball was outrageous or anything, just that Burris is blind.

Yes but you think at this level they could make a 5 yard pass to prevent having to take a safety!

Is the receiving record really that important? It's just catches!
I could throw Moon 1000 1 yard passes if I really wanted to

Late in the half, deep in our own zone.
Run the ball, then kick it and the half would of been over.
Dumb all around by everyone.
Burris needs to be sat.

I really don't see what people expect Burris to do there. He can either take the safety or rush a throw. That's on the coaches.
I really don't see what everyone thinks Tate can do. Is he going to make perfect throws with pressure in his face every snap?

You have to give the Als defense credit. They were terrible last game so they made some adjustment in this game and so far it is working for them. On the other hand, i have no idea why the Stamps offense didn't expect of the Al's defense adjustment though.

Burris is throwing passes 5 yards short of receivers and fumbling all over the place. Stamps need to match intensity.
Als defense has been terrible all season, they didn't suddenly get better today.

That is too much of a gamble when there is less than half a minute left. If they run the ball, they ran the clock down and then try to punt the ball and more time run out. Like I said it would be different if there are over a minute or 2 minutes left in the half.

Putting Tate in for a series at least gives Burris a chance to try and get his head straight. Instead, Hank goes in there and makes dumber and dumber decisions. It is almost impossible for a QB to play a worse first half of football.

I would still keep Henry Burris in the beginning of the 2nd half but if there's no changes in their first 5-8 possessions, then I'll say yank him out and put Tate in as the game will probably be over by then.
I know the defense are getting tired but they need to make some adjustment and abandon this man-to-man defense. Calvillo loves it when he sees his receiver playing man-to-man. Our tough DB Browner is getting beat way too much today so I think the safety need to gamble more on his side for some help.

This game is basically over now, the defense can't stop anything. The only way we have any chance of winning is if by some miracle Montreal scores a field goal or less in the 2nd half.
Oh FFS.

Well, our defense is following the offense terrible first half. They can't tackle or not a lot of pressure. When they beat the receiver, it usually a penalty flag comes out for pass interference. Not good..

Yikes, just turned on the game and was expecting a decent game/score. The Roughriders give them a gift by losing the Argo and this is what they come up with?

Turn it off. Stamps have given up and you know Cahoon is going to break the record and Cuthbert will sound like an 11 year old boy.
Turn it off!

Darian Durant is giving Hank a run for his money as far as Jekyll and Hyde performances this year.
