I won my first playoff game 7-1. I was the #5 seed and he was #4. Off to my barn for game number #2.

Our teams are fairly similar, with mine coming out slighting ahead, but the poor guy has no sense of tactics. He always plays on offense.
|
This for me too, he plays offensive and I'm the #4 seed. Also won by the same difference, 6-2
Chalms also won his game, but the #1 and #2 seeds lost!

Lost my game today, 7-3, very upsetting cause I had the right tactics and I switched the last minute. Was a tough loss, really want to win this to completely avoid relegation...

Ok I feel the need to ask a somewhat dumb question. In my league the #2 ranked Gryphons have lost their manager and fell to the #7 seed. By the looks of it Souleater(#7 seed) will advance to the second round. The way my playoff ladder is set up right now is that #1 vs #8 and my pairing #4 vs. #5. On the other side its #2 vs. #7 and #3 vs. #6. So by the looks of it I will advance(#5) as will #1. and on the other side #7 will advance. So am I goin to be playing the #1 seed or will I be playing the winner of #3 vs. #6?

The ladder changes depending on who wins, I don't know if you can look at previous seasons without propack but look at previous playoff ladders, if 7 wins, they will play 1 next round, same as NHL.

So there is re-seeding eh? Not sure it'll matter in our div as the 1/2 seeds will go out I'm pretty sure!

We'd all be at the bottom of our leagues.

Yeah thanks alot J for all the help throughout this season. Heck Ive poached ideas from all of you guys
Thats great news, now with me not havng to play the Chinooks (#1 seed, undefeated season too) it looks like I have a real chance at playing in the league finals. More than likely against him but at least it will be the finals and not the 2nd round.

No problem guys, that's why I set this thread up!
If you get to the league finals your more than likely going to end up moving to league III! The team you play in relegation will most likely either be inactive or just really sucks.

Do teams that advance from the same league move up to the same league, or do they move into different league...like if Chalms and me were to both advance would we play in the same league next year?

Sweeps galore in league IV.11. All teams advance to the next round winning 2-0. Next round should see the #3 Smokies and #8 Castors, while the #4 Flamez will play the #7 Capitals.

With a 4-1 victory today The Rokkers advance to the 2nd round to face the #6 seed Junior's Strength.
The #2 and #3 seeds were eliminated today. With the re seeding I should have home ice advantage.
Congratz to all who made the second round.

Not one series - regulation, playoff or placement - went to a 3rd game in my league.
Things are actually looking up for my team. ROLEX - the number one team in my league is my next opponent, however, after a couple adjustments (thanks in part to J) and a couple strategic player purchases, I was able to bump my team up to 26. While his is 25 as per the last playoff game.
I've got a chance.
He always plays "offensive", so I've got the tactics battle won. So I should play defensive, right J?

I noticed during the season that my team plays like crap on Defensive, so I tried Active vs teams who always play Offensive, and it seems to work decently.

I personally love playing defensive, my team always plays well with it. If you don't like doing defensive though the best option is just to match him in tactics (aka do offensive as well) so tactics are just out of the equation.

Alright time for a round 2 IV.11 preview and predictions:
#3 Smokies vs #8 Castors du belle chasse
Both teams advanced with a sweep in the first round, the Castors probably had the easier match up considering the #1 DesTROYers went inactive with only a week left in the season. Both teams took one win in the season series, however the Smokies loss was the first game of the year, before GM Chalms had taken over. The teams have equal OTS of 23, however the Smokies big advantage lies in outstanding goaltender Rihards Purins. Along with this is a slew of good Canadian players who by now must have good Chemistry, playing the majority of the year together. The Castors may be slightly more talented outside of their goaltender, but I think with home ice, tactics and chemistry to go along with a far superior goaltender the Smokies should win 2-1.
#4 Flamez vs #7 Capitals
The season series between these two ended with two ties, and like the regular season, this should be a very close series, and should have a similar story line to the other series. The Capitals are more talented up front and have decent goaltending to go with it. They just squeaked by the #2 New Hawks however, requiring OT and the SO to win the series 2-0. Their line up has changed constantly, with import players being brought in throughout the year. The Flamez also recently acquired big name goaltender Jan Farkas who's put up good numbers in the few games he's played, leading the Flamez to an easier 2-0 series win over the #5 HC Wushu. Tactics and home ice should enable the Flamez to come out ahead, but this series will almost certainly go to 3 games and don't be surprised to see a few more OT games.
On a personal note, really hoping to see Chalms in the league final

Since I'm on the road, I'm going to take J's suggestions and do normal/defensive. Hopefully I can shock him on the road and seal the deal next home game w/ high/defensive.
He hasn't changed his tactics all season, so I think even if I beat him, he'll still play that way next game.

Flamez win 5-1, while the Smokies win 5-3; both taking a 1-0 series lead!
I played on high while he was on normal (but he switched his tactics!), while Chalms got away with playing on low! Not sure I'll be able to finish it on the road but I think I can win again at home in any case.

5-0 slaughter of ROLEX by my team. Shots ended up being 30-9 in my favor. I'm at home next game, so hopefully this series will be over in 2.
He floored me in the regular season, so hopefully this is my chance at sweet revenge.

Haha, I put my 14 best in a quick training camp so they would be ready for the relegation round next week (lost my last series, so now going for 13-16th place) and now my team wins a game! Win 5-4 with half my line being prospects and guys who have been passed by by younger and better players.
